On Friday, October 9th, EBSNA was invited to Coliseum College Prep Academy’s College & Career Fair to share details and information about CSUEB’s nursing program. With this opportunity, we were able to increase middle and high school students’ knowledge about college and post secondary education! At our table, we offered Spin-the-Wheel trivia, stickers, snacks, and free blood pressure checks. 📚🫀

We are grateful for this amazing opportunity and happy to introduce the world of nursing to emerging college students! 🧑‍⚕️🍎

NEXT WEEK! 🧘🌊

We are bringing in a CSUEB Alumni from our Nursing program to present ways to manage stress, focus, and overall well-being.

Christa “Angeline” Cruz, MSN, RN, NC-BC, has been a registered nurse for 18 years. Early in her career, she provided direct patient care across skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, and community intake settings—primarily supporting seniors. After a career break as a full-time, stay-at-home mom to her two boys, she returned to her professional path with a renewed focus on whole-person wellness.

In 2024, Angeline completed a nurse coaching program and earned board certification through the American Holistic Nurses Credentialing Corporation (AHNCC). In 2025, she began working with clients remotely through Angeline Cruz Coaching, continuing to expand her skill set through additional certifications with the Quantum Ripple Effect Institute. She blends her nursing foundation with tools for nervous system regulation, mindset, and subconscious reprogramming—helping people reconnect with themselves so they can show up with more clarity, confidence, and calm. She shares this work through her podcast, Return to Self, and her free Empowered You Audio Toolkit, a series of guided audios for reconnecting with your inner voice.

Get ready to bring the SPIRIT because EBSNA is kicking off a MONTH-LONG SPIRIT MONTH! 🩺✨

Every Tuesday throughout October, we’ll have a NEW THEME for you to dress up for! Whether you’re feeling spooky, silly, cute, or downright terrifying, come dressed to impress and help us bring some SPIRIT to nursing school!

We know nursing school can be stressful, especially with midterms creeping up. So let’s take a little time to have fun, boost class morale, and make some spooky memories with our future nurse fam!

AND THAT’S NOT ALL… 🍁🍂

On October 27th, we’ll be wrapping up Spirit Month with a COSTUME CONTEST! 🕸️🏆 Come dressed in your best costume for a chance to win a PRIZE! 🎁

Cheers to good food, fun vibes, and plenty of homemade dishes for this year’s CSUEB NURSING Fall picnic! All three of our cohorts came together to share our favorite recipes, enjoy the fall weather, and make some memories outside of the classroom. 🍽️🍗🍁

Last Tuesday, we had the pleasure of attending a talk with ICU Nurse Sandeep Pokharel 🩺✨

He shared real and valuable advice on what it’s like transitioning into practice that covered how burnout can show up early, ways to manage stress and workload, and the importance of setting boundaries to sustain a long-term nursing career. He also dove into being financially smart as a new grad, from budgeting and student loans to understanding your paycheck, benefits, and avoiding common mistakes.
