As a Dallas Cowboys fan, this one wasn’t easy. But over everything else, I’ve always respected greatness & Joe Theismann was one hell of a QB.

Adding “The Jet” to my collection was an easy decision. & this is actually my first time experimenting with nameplates. I’m really happy with how this one came out.

Joe Theismann’s last name was originally pronounced THEES-mann. At Notre Dame, sports information director Roger Valdiserri suggested pronouncing it “THEISMANN” so it would rhyme with Heisman. The Jet eventually went along with it & finished 2nd in the 1970 Heisman Trophy voting only behind Jim Plunkett. Even crazier, Theismann later said his grandmother told him that “Tice-mann” was actually closer to the original family pronunciation.

Before becoming a Washington legend, he also spent a season in the CFL with the Toronto Argonauts, leading them to the 1971 Grey Cup, something a lot of NFL only fans probably don’t realize.

Cowboys fan ✔️
Respect for football history ✔️
Another piece of greatness on the wall ✔️

Tom Segura: Thrilled

This one is a pretty damn cool piece of my collection. Thrilled was Tom Segura’s debut stand up album, released back in 2010, LONG before Tom became the absolute comedy machine he is today.

I’ve been a Segura fan wayyyyy before all the fame, Netflix specials, sold out tours & the massive podcast empire. I’m talking back when Tommy Buns was still… well… fat as shit!

& yes, “Tommy Buns” is actually one of the nicknames Segura has gone by. He’s also been known as DJ Dad Mouth, which is about as perfectly Segura as a nickname can get.

From Thrilled in 2010 to becoming one of the biggest names in comedy, it’s been pretty damn cool watching the evolution. His first Netflix special, Completely Normal, didn’t even come until 2014, so this CD takes me back to an era when I was already a fan before a whole lot of people knew who the hell Tom Segura was.

I don’t collect these because I’m trying to sell them. I collect the stuff that means something to me & being able to say “I was a fan way back then” makes this one even cooler to me.

Tommy Buns. DJ Dad Mouth. Main Mommy’s better half.

Just a little piece of the journey from Thrilled → where he is today…. A GIANT! @seguratom #comedy #podcast #yourmomshouse #1oftheBEST #tommysegura by @eastcoastcollection3

CHEECH & CHONG!!!

This one is a little extra special for the collection because it’s my 1st piece with BOTH Cheech & Chongs signatures on the same item!

Cheech Marin + Tommy Chong = one legendary comedy duo.

Richard “Cheech” Marin & Tommy Chong turned their characters, chemistry & completely unmistakable style into something that became way bigger than just a couple of comedians. Their 1978 movie Up in Smoke became a cult classic & helped cement Cheech & Chong as icons of counterculture comedy.

Random fun fact: before they became the Cheech & Chong we all know, the two actually met while performing in Vancouver. & their comedy albums were already making serious noise before they ever hit the big screen.

I have plenty of individual signatures in my collection, but getting both of these legends on 1 photo finally checked a pretty awesome box. @heytommychong @cheechandchong #Legends #comedy #420 #UpinSmoke by @eastcoastcollection3

A PIECE OF BASEBALL HISTORY THAT FEELS LIKE A MYSTERY!

This might be one of the strangest & most fascinating pieces in my collection, a signed display featuring Oran Herbert “Skinny” O’Neal, a pitcher who spent parts of 1925 & 1927 with the Philadelphia Phillies.

& honestly… finding information about this guy was HARD. I searched & searched & there is surprisingly little out there about him. Even more frustrating? I couldn’t find a confirmed photograph of him anywhere. So the portrait you see here is AI created, based on the information I could find about him. I have absolutely no idea if this is what Skinny O’Neal actually looked like, but considering there doesn’t seem to be a confirmed photo readily available, I figured this was better than leaving the autograph with no face at all.

What I do know is that “Skinny” was his actual documented nickname & his full name was Oran Herbert O’Neal. He was born May 2, 1899 in Gatewood, Missouri, made his MLB debut on April 18, 1925 & ultimately appeared in 13 major-league games for Philadelphia.

His MLB career was brief, 25⅓ innings, 8 strikeouts & 7 at bats, but there’s something pretty awesome about holding an autograph from someone who played professional baseball nearly 100 years ago.

Even the Phillies own historical media guide lists him as “O’Neal, Oran “Skinny” - 1925-27

& that’s exactly why I love collecting this kind of stuff. Everybody knows the superstars. But every once in a while you find the autograph of a player whose story has almost disappeared with time. No famous Hall of Fame career. No endless photographs. Just a signature from a man who actually stood on a major-league mound almost a century ago.

So now I have an autograph, a Phillies display & an AI generated face of a man whose real face I still haven’t been able to find.

Skinny O’Neal, one of the forgotten names of early Phillies baseball, but definitely not forgotten in this collection. #collection #autograph #philadelphia #phillies #skinny by @eastcoastcollection3

Some pieces of memorabilia are cool because of what they are & then there are pieces that come with a piece of history attached.

Luis “YoYo” Arroyo is definitely one of those.

Arroyo was the 1st Puerto Rican to play for the New York Yankees, making his Yankee debut in 1960. Even before becoming a Yankee, he had already made history in 1955 when he & Vic Power became the 1st two Puerto Ricans selected to an All Star Game.

The “YoYo” nickname reportedly came from his days in the minors when people in North Carolina had trouble with his last name.

Then came 1961 & Arroyo absolutely went off. Coming almost exclusively out of the bullpen, he went 15-5 with 29 saves & a 2.19 ERA, led the American League in saves, made his 2nd All Star team & helped the Yankees win the World Series. He was even named The Sporting News’ Fireman of the Year.

For his MLB career, the little lefty finished 40-32 with a 3.93 ERA, 45 saves & 336 strikeouts. He also had one of baseball’s nastiest weapons of the era, his screwball.

A pioneer, a Yankee, a 2 time All Star, a World Series champion… & “YoYo”

Not bad for one display. #NewYork #Yankees #YoYo #MLB by @eastcoastcollection3

CJ2K: A FREAK OF NATURE

Some autographs are cool because of who signed them. Others mean a little more because of what that person accomplished. This one is definitely the latter.

Chris Johnson, better known as “CJ2K” was an absolute freak of nature at running back. The kind of player where you could blink & he was already 50 yards down the field. His 4.24 sec 40yrd dash at the 2008 NFL Combine was legendary & in 2009 he somehow took that ridiculous speed & turned it into one of the greatest seasons a running back has ever had! 2,006 rushing yards, 2,509 yards from scrimmage, 16 total TDs, an NFL rushing title & AP Offensive Player of the Year.

That 2,000-yard season is where CJ2K came from,a nickname that basically became synonymous with his speed & explosiveness. He also rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his six seasons with Tennessee.

& then comes the part that makes this autograph hit a whole lot differently.

In June 2026, Chris publicly revealed that he had been diagnosed with ALS, a devastating disease that has progressed rapidly. What really stuck with me was his message that ALS has changed what his body can do, but it hasn’t changed who he is. He has since been using his platform to raise awareness & bring attention back to ALS research, including reviving the Ice Bucket Challenge. @chrisjohnsontwo8 #nfllegend #titans #collectibles #NFL #ALS

It’s honestly hard to look at this photo and not think about how insanely fast and powerful this man once was on a football field… and then realize what he’s fighting today.

CJ2K was a freak of nature on the field. Now he’s showing a different kind of toughness off of it. 💙

Wishing Chris nothing but strength in this fight. 🙏 by @eastcoastcollection3

LIVE ACTION!!!

This is one of those autographs I honestly NEVER thought I’d own. Not because it’s some crazy rare or expensive piece, but because I genuinely didn’t think The Turtleman autograph even existed! & honestly, I thought me & one of my closest friends were about the only people who knew who he was. @dpl2432

When I used to live with him we would watch Call of the Wildman all the time. That show was completely unique. You never knew what kind of critter Ernie Brown Jr aka “The Turtleman” was going to wrestle with next.

For anyone who remembers it, you already know the sound…

“YE YE YE YE YE!!!”
“LIVE ACTION!!!”

Ernie became famous for catching snapping turtles & other animals with his bare hands & he had actually been doing it for decades before Call of the Wildman premiered on Animal Planet in 2011. The show ended up running for 4 seasons & 72 episodes.

& then there’s the autograph itself…

This one was an absolute NIGHTMARE to frame because Turtleman signed so close to the edges that I had almost no room to work with. I did the best I could without cutting off any of his writing. He even added “Live Action” underneath the Turtleman logo probably my favorite part of the whole piece.

Some autographs are valuable because of the name attached to them.

Others are valuable because of the memories attached to them.

This one is definitely the second kind for me.

THE PEOPLE’S CHAMP!!!

One of my favorite rappers from that early to mid 2000s era, Paul Wall Baby, This photo brings back some serious memories.

I was a HUGE Paul Wall fan back in the day. His style was completely different from anything I was listening to at the time & honestly, he opened my eyes to a whole different side of hip hop. Before Paul Wall, I really wasn’t paying enough attention to what was coming out of Houston. Then came Swishahouse, the chopped & screwed sound, the candy painted cars & that unmistakable H Town style.

Paul was one of the artists who made me want to dig deeper into Houston’s music scene. His work with Swishahouse & especially records like Still Tippin & Sittin Sidewayz, helped bring that Houston sound to a MUCH bigger audience. His 2005 album The Peoples Champ even debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200.

& then there’s the GRILLZ.

Paul Wall fun fact: Paul Wall wasn’t just a rapper who happened to wear flashy teeth. He was actually selling grillz before his rap career really took off. He started out promoting them, eventually learned the business & later teamed up with the legendary Johnny Dang. The two became longtime business partners & helped turn Houston’s grill culture into a worldwide phenomenon.

Another random fun fact: Before becoming a household name, Paul Wall was already grinding in Houston’s underground scene as both a rapper & DJ. He also attended the University of Houston & studied mass communications before music took over.

For me, Paul Wall represents a time when discovering a new artist could actually send you down a rabbit hole. One song turns into an album, the album turns into Swishahouse, then you’re learning about DJ Screw, UGK, Mike Jones (WHO?) Slim Thug, Chamillionaire & the whole Houston movement. & THAT is what I loved about music back then. @paulwallbaby #ThePeoplesChamp #SwishaHouse #Grillz #Houston by @eastcoastcollection3

FLAVOR FLAV!!!

Some autographs are cool because of who signed them & then there are autographs that come with an entire personality attached to them. This photo of the one & only Flavor Flav definitely falls into that category!

Before he was reality TV royalty, Flav was already a huge part of hip hop history as a founding member of Public Enemy, standing alongside Chuck D & becoming one of the most recognizable hype men the genre has ever seen. & of course, there’s the clock. That ridiculous, oversized clock necklace started as a joke & somehow became one of the most iconic looks in music history. There’s actually one of Flav’s original clocks on display at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History & Culture.

Known simply as Flav & sometimes referred to as Dr. Funkenstein, he’s also a seriously talented musician. He taught himself piano as a kid & learned to play multiple instruments long before the world knew him for the giant clocks, wild glasses & the legendary, YEAH BOYEEEE!!!

But here’s the part that makes this one personal for me…

I became a Flavor Flav fan all over again when he showed up on The Surreal Life back in 2004. Watching him on that show reminded me just how entertaining this dude really was. He was so damn funny that he basically became a permanent inside joke between me & one of my closest friends.

To this day, every single time we run into each other, one of us has to yell “FLAVOR FLAV!”

YEAH BOYYYYEEEE! @flavorflavofficial #HipHopRoyalty #Flav #Legend #PublicEnemy #Collection by @eastcoastcollection3

“Mick the Quick”

There’s something about old school Yankees memorabilia that just hits different. This photo features Mickey Rivers, one of the most entertaining & underrated players to wear the pinstripes during the late 70s.

Better known as “Mick the Quick” Rivers was exactly what that nickname suggests, SPEED. He finished his career with 267 stolen bases & a .295 lifetime batting average.

When the Yankees acquired him in 1976, he immediately took off. That first season in New York, Rivers hit .312 with 184 hits, 95 runs & 43 stolen bases, earned an All Star selection & finished 3rd in the AL MVP voting. Not a bad introduction to the Bronx.

& here’s the really cool part, Rivers helped the Yankees win back to back World Series in 1977 & 1978. During his 3 postseason runs with New York, he hit .308 overall.

He wore #17, the same number later made famous by another Yankees legend, but for those who remember the Bronx in the late ’70s, #17 meant Mick the Quick. #MickeyRivers #MickTheQuick #NewYorkYankees by @eastcoastcollection3

“Louisiana Lightning”

One of the coolest pitching autographs in my collection, a signed display featuring Yankees legend Ron Guidry, better known by his nicknames “Louisiana Lightning” & “Gator.”

& if you’re wondering why a guy with a nickname like Louisiana Lightning became a Yankees legend, just look at what he did in 1978:

- 25-3 record
- 1.74 ERA
- 248 strikeouts
- 9 shutouts
- 16 complete games
- Unanimous AL Cy Young Award

Oh & on June 17, 1978, Guidry struck out 18 Angels in a shutout, a Yankees single game record that STILL stands. That performance also helped start the famous “two strike clap” tradition you hear from fans at ballparks.

Guidry spent his entire MLB playing career with the Yankees, won two World Series, was a 4 time All Star, won 5 Gold Gloves, served as a Yankees co captain, & eventually had his #49 retired in 2003. He even came back to the organization as the Yankees pitching coach in 2006–07.

Basically, if you were a Yankees fan in the late 70s, you knew one thing when Gator took the mound…
