Emberly is pure joy. 💛

This energetic five-year-old loves bubbles, singing, dancing, and spending time with her older sister. But behind her bright smile is a journey that included years of uncertainty before her family finally received a diagnosis of PURA syndrome, a rare genetic condition that affects her physical and developmental abilities.

With support from Easter Seals Ontario's Equipment Funding Program, Emberly has been able to access equipment that helps her participate more fully at school, in her community, and alongside her peers.

"The stroller lets Emberly move around and be part of the group," shares her mom, Amanda. "It gives her that sense of inclusion, which is so important."

Watch the video to learn more about Emberly's journey and the difference donor support has made for her family.

Thank you to our donors for helping children like Emberly access the equipment they need to explore, participate, and thrive.

Have you met Zoe? This social 7-year-old loves being surrounded by family and friends. Her mom, Sarah-Lynne, describes her as being full of sunshine — “she vibrates positive energy wherever she goes.” ☀️

Zoe was born with an extremely rare metabolic condition known as a congenital disorder of glycosylation (CDG). It affects the way her body grows and her brain develops and has resulted in a medicine-resistant form of epilepsy.

To move, play, or experience any form of independence, Zoe relies on a range of costly mobility and accessibility equipment. This includes a customized bath chair that allows her to bathe safely or enjoy playing in the lake alongside her siblings.

Thanks to the support of Easter Seals donors, we were able to provide Zoe with funding for her bath chair. But her needs will continue to change as she grows. Your continued generosity helps ensure Zoe can keep participating in the moments that matter most.

💛 Thank you for all that you do for Easter Seals kids and families.

As we step into the holiday season, we want to share a story that shows the power of your generosity. It is the story of a little girl named Everly, whose strength and spirit have touched every one of us at Easter Seals Ontario.

Everly lives with a rare condition that affects her mobility, but what stands out most is her bright smile and her determination to take part in every moment of childhood. Her parents talk about how overwhelming the journey felt at first and how much it meant to have support they could count on. That support includes people like you.

When you give to Easter Seals, you help families access the mobility and accessibility equipment their children need to move, learn, grow, and enjoy life. You create opportunities for kids like Everly to discover what is possible.

Thank you for being part of the Easter Seals Ontario community. Your kindness brings comfort to parents and joy to children who rely on us. We are grateful every day for what you make possible.

Meet Hilary from Camp Merrywood!

Hilary is 25 years old and is back at Easter Seals Ontario camp for her 19th summer, after first attending when she was just 6 years old.

Life Skills is Hilary's favourite camp activity. The program gives campers the opportunity to build practical skills, gain confidence and enjoy new experiences alongside friends.

When reflecting on some of her favourite camp memories over the years, Hilary says it's the chance to try so many different activities that stands out most. From music and drama to arts and crafts and swimming, every summer has brought something new to experience.

Thank you for sharing a little about your camp journey with us, Hilary!

Another camper we'd love for you to meet is Dalia!

Dalia is 17 years old and is attending Camp Woodeden for the ninth time! She has also spent five sessions at Camp Merrywood.

Dalia's favourite program is sports and games, run by Rowan. Throughout this session, she's participated in dodgeball, sledge hockey, volleyball and more! Dalia says, "I'm not the type of person that can stay still," so Woodeden is the perfect environment with so many programs to choose from!

For Dalia, some of the best camp memories come from the friendships she's made. This session has been no different! She has loved spending time with her cabin mates, especially Chloe. They've enjoyed s'mores and banana boats together and slept side by side in their sleeping bags. Another highlight was a recent movie night, where Dalia relaxed on an air canoe, shared chocolate chip cookies with her cabin counsellor and "had the best time of [her] life."

When asked how she would describe Woodeden, Dalia said: "Fun, enjoyable, memorable, fantastic ... you never want to go home!"

Dalia also wanted to leave other young people with disabilities with this message:

"It doesn't matter about your disability if you think of it as an ability."

Thank you for sharing your camp story with us, Dalia!

Tai is 19 years old and is back at Easter Seals Ontario camp for his sixth year.

Archery is Tai's favourite camp activity, and one of his favourite memories from this week has been taking part in Merrywood's Survival Club. Campers learn outdoor skills like fishing, archery and camping, and Tai especially enjoyed heading out on the lake to fish.

Enjoy the rest of your time at Camp Merrywood, Tai!

We're excited to introduce you to another incredible camper from Camp Woodeden ... meet Jaxon!

Jaxon is 13 years old and is back at Easter Seals Ontario camp for his second year.

When asked about his favourite camp activity, Jaxon couldn't choose just one! His top three are pottery, arts and crafts, and the pool.

Recently, Jaxon has really been enjoying pottery because, as he says, it's creative and "fun to get your hands dirty." He's been making pinch pots and plates with programmer Rosa. At one point, he forgot his hands were covered in clay before scratching his head, leaving his hair all messy!

While many of Jaxon's favourite camp memories involve late-night conversations with his cabin mates, one that stands out from last year is making paper mâché around a glove in arts and crafts. He was really looking forward to the fun programs planned this year by programmer Owen and was quick to sign up for a slime-making activity, which he thoroughly enjoyed, even if the slime didn't turn out quite as he expected.

Jaxon also enjoys spending time on the high ropes course and would encourage anyone to try it out because "It's really high but you're really safe," and it's a great way to get your heart pumping!

Overall, Jaxon loves Camp Woodeden because it's "a fun place to be" and "an open place to be who you want without judgment." In Jaxon's words: "Who doesn't like summer camp?"

Thanks for sharing your camp story with us, Jaxon!

Next up, we're excited for you to meet Ethan from Camp Woodeden!

Ethan is 11 years old and is back at Easter Seals Ontario camp for his second year.

This summer, Ethan's favourite activity is spending time with his friends in the pool. He says this year at Woodeden has been particularly amazing because he's made friends with everyone in his cabin. Go Cabin Orange!

Ethan also loves getting creative. One of his favourite camp memories is tie-dyeing a T-shirt purple, green and orange, mixing the colours himself to create the perfect design. He's also enjoyed pottery and arts and crafts, especially making a model of one of his favourite characters, Rex from Paw Patrol, with his cabin counsellor Hannah.

Another highlight for Ethan was taking the stage at the talent show to perform "Bottle Up" from the new Paw Patrol movie, with support from his cabin counsellors.

When asked how he'd introduce someone new to Camp Woodeden, Ethan had a simple plan: excitedly shout "Welcome to Woodeden!" and take them straight to the pool.

Thanks for sharing a little about your time at camp, Ethan!

His favourite camp activities are swimming and sports and games, and one of his favourite camp memories is taking part in Camp Merrywood's very first Kayak Polo Club this summer!

When asked how his week had been, Mazen didn't hesitate:

"It's been amazing! I've loved all the swimming, sports and games and the kayaking. Yeah, it's been great!"

Next up is Emma from Camp Woodeden!

Emma is 15 years old and is spending her third summer at camp.

Emma loves all the camp activities, but the pool is her favourite! Being in the water gives her the incredible feeling of walking freely, and she loves splashing around with her friends and cabin counsellors. As Emma says, "My favourite thing about the pool is splashing and walking in the water."

Emma also loves singing and performing. One of her favourite camp memories is singing and signing "You Are My Sunshine" with a counsellor in the talent show. This session, she's been teaching her cabin leader, Hannah, and camp photographer, Amberlie, her favourite song, while making sure the whole cabin joins in singing the Camp Woodeden classic "Great Big Moose." She's especially excited to perform again with this year's ropes head, Dalex, who has been learning ASL so they can perform alongside her.

When asked to describe Camp Woodeden, Emma simply said it is "full of indescribable fun."

Thanks for sharing your camp story with us, Emma!

This weekend was the inaugural @eastersealson Swim The Lake! 130 swimmers of all abilities took to Lake Ontario at @kingstonyachtclub for the 1.5km or 3km open water swim. The swimmers were supported by a flotilla of volunteers both on the sea and on land, with Rotarians from @ckrotary and @kwrotaryclub, as well as our club out in full force.

It also featured the first use of our new tent, which we're very excited about.

And a big congratulations to Linda Clouthier for organizing such a big and successful event, with $50,000 raised. You can still donate by contacting Linda!
