These sobagaki buckwheat balls were really fun to make mainly because I never knew about them before. You can pan fry them or dip it in soy sauce or drop them in some soup. Full recipe on the channel ☺️

Hanoi definitely has the character, the way more sophisticated, artsy and interesting sister. And the plan was to spend Têt there, but the air got scary. And so like the traitor that they were, I fled south. Missing it a ton - not the scary air or motorbikes sharing walking lanes with me, but everything else. Still, spending Lunar New Year in an Asian country is nice...better than the normal "making hotpot in an overly-moist apartment and having the outside be quiet and dark by 3pm vibe." Almost time for 🎆🎆!!

Eat more plants, question authority, be kind, try this cookie

It's actually mochi (pounded rice) dough, but baked! Japanese yatsuhashi cinnamon cookies that I transformed using the least processed, fiber-rich ingredients. Everything is brown!😛 Check it on the channel now.

lunar new year tortoises I'm making today. I would try my hand at wood carving but i'm worried about cutting off a finger

They'll be filled rice cakes colored by strawberries. Mung bean filling. I kept the rice flour white but we could try brown turtles next year. So that, but the rest is whole food plant based which I keep whipping around and no one cares about. But it's not easy cooking that way. So when people go oooh and ahhh over a roasted chicken recipe what they should be oohing and ahhing at is how much fiber I packed into this filling and still have it taste creamy and amazing. You're welcome colon.

It is hard celebrating anything knowing what's going on in Palestine. This year I wish everyone good health and let's start fighting back - let's buy less things, let's look out for people, take care of our health, slow down, pick up a craft, question capitalism, learn about colonialism -- side goal of maybe not raising global climate by 1.5 degrees each day.

Happy Lunar New Year 🐉- dragon buns video out tomorrow. Not for the faint of heart. Good luck.
