Masullo 🍕
One of the tastiest margherita pizzas in the 916. As authentic as it gets in this city. We also gobbled up the ‘American’ which was pepperoni paradise. The oven-roasted mussels appetizer was delectable! It sat in a persillade sauce that was heaven on a baguette. Throw in a @bikedogbrewing IPA & this was quite the treat. Who makes the best margherita pizza in Sacramento? @masullo_pizza has our vote! 🗳

Capitol Beer & Taproom 🍺 @capitolbeer
One of our favorite, if not our top choice for craft brews in Sacramento, “Cap Tap” is doing the damn thing! They are advocates for tapping quality, local, independent craft beer and boy do they always have one hell of a selection. The ambiance is always chill, the chalk board is always funny. They also have a wide variety of canned/bottled beer on the opposite side of their tap room you can purchase to take home or simply pay a $1 corkage fee to drink in house! While there is no kitchen, Cap Tap allows you to bring in outside food to grub down with their beer. Trust us, there are plenty of choices surrounding their tap room (we’ve even written about a couple!). PRO TIP: Follow their Instagram page to know when they get @plinyintheair kegs in as they are one of the only places in Sacramento to have Pliny the Elder on tap! 🍻

Sarom’s Southern Kitchen 🍳🍗 If you’ve been paying attention to our feed you know we’re obsessed with breakfast/brunch. We heard about Sarom’s Southern Kitchen on El Camino and had to check it out. They impressed and fed us well! All around solid, homestyle cooking with a straight forward approach; No bullshit, just tasty, honest breakfast. The chicken & waffles were some of the best we have experienced. At the end of our meal they even awarded us with sweet potato pie. Well maybe everyone gets a free slice but I’d like to think it was because we put away a shit load of food. While Harry’s Cafe is still near and dear to our heart, we’ll definitely be fitting in Sarom’s a little more often. We’re just being real!

Hawks Provisions & Public House 🍽 🍳🍞 So we’ve been on the breakfast sando hype lately and we heard some things about the BS at @hawksprovisionsandpublichouse . We said screw the BS, let’s try it out! We started with some biscuits and butter which were damn tasty, no doubt about that. But then came what we now have been referring to as the “salt sandwich.” Boy oh boy, we’ve had a lot of salt sandwiches but this one might take the shaker! My egg was fairly on point as I received the gift of SOME yolk, but that salt just kept being salty! The potatoes on the plate were incredibly dry and yep, you guessed it; Salty as hell. This is our first time eating at Hawks so maybe this just isn’t our forte. However, we still got hit with some straight-up salt sandwiches. Hey, we’re just being real! @camelliacoffeeroasters still taking the W in Sac with breakfast sandwiches for now. Who’s next? 🍽 taken in Hawks Provisions and Public House by @eatdrinksacramento

Camellia Coffee Roasters ☕️🥪 Without an @eggslut in Sacramento, what is a breakfast sandwich addict supposed to do? Sure, you could make your own at home sourcing only the finest farm-to-fork ingredients. Yea, you could eat that dry sloppiness from Sellands. OR, you can get your ass downtown to the @walpublicmarket and visit @camelliacoffeeroasters ! Yes, they are a coffee roasting company but HOT DAMN are they serving up some mighty delicious breakfast sandwiches. Using a soft brioche bun with fluffy scrambled eggs, melted cheese inside the eggs, an amazing mayo variation spread, and your choice of sausage, bacon, or veggie, this breakfast sandwich is by far the best breakfast sandwich we have tried in Sacramento. MARK OUR WORDS PEOPLE! Now, we’re not going to get all crazy and say this is up there with the almighty @eggslut but damn it they are sure close. Outside of the breakfast sandwiches we love the simplicity of the menu, the slickness of the coffee bar, and the kindness of the employees. You guys are rocking it! So if you’re looking for a solid breakfast sandwich in Sac, look no further… Camellia Coffee Roasters has you covered! We’re just being real! Coconut’s Fish Cafe 🥥 🎣
On the corner of 16th & O Street you’ll find a little slice of island life. @coconutssacto is serving up fish tacos & burgers that are unlike anything else in the 916. We love the fish tacos but try going for the grilled ono (more firm) or mahi mahi (more flaky) on a bun. They give you several bun & flavor options including southwest (pictured on grilled ono) and salt & pepper (pictured on mahi mahi), as well as several others. Throw a basket of fries on the side & you’re set! Don’t forget about their appetizer menu! The grilled calamari is a different take being softer and more tender than tradition calamari, but damn it it works! For a taste of the island life in the city of trees, stop by Coconut’s Fish Cafe! We’re just being real! 🍽

Los Jarritos 🌮🌯 When it comes to bang for your buck, family owned Los Jarritos on Broadway is your best bet. Not only are they serving up some of the best Mexican food in the city, this place is as local as it gets. Family owned for years; If you’re lucky you can catch Grandma in there working the register. As you can see from this photo, portions are generous. The chimichanga is incredibly tasty with a crispy outside and juicy tender inside with whatever meat your little heart desires. From tacos to the infamous super burrito and even posole specials, Los Jarritos is one of, if not the best all around Mexican restaurant in Sacramento. Cafe Bernardo 🍳🥔🍞 If you want a solid, consistent breakfast/brunch spot hit up Cafe Bernardo, on Capitol. The food is best at this location based on our experiences. You can’t beat the chicken apple sausage scramble. Potatoes are on point, mozzarella cheese melts in your mouth, & the house made jam pairs incredibly well with their fresh ass toast. Service is quick & easy & their coffee will get you hyped. An all around solid spot, we’re just being real.

Golden Dragon 🐉🥡 The best damn Chinese food in Sacramento. It always has been! Golden Dragon on Broadway stays consistent year after year, week after week. They keep it traditional and serve up solid portions. Service is always quality. Take-out is always on point.
