It’s carnival season, which means it’s time for finger foods!

These crawfish pies using @pepperexchange’s cayenne pepper purée are the perfect food to take on the parade route🦞🥧

I often get asked what made me want to start my account, and the answer is my Paw Paw Ray. He was the head chef at The Lion’s Share restaurant until they closed their doors. Once he retired, he started a small catering business to keep himself occupied. He cooked extravagant dinners for all of his friends every week for their fantasy football league and, of course, whipped up amazing holiday dinners. I learned almost everything I know about cooking and good eating from him. He had me in the kitchen with him when I was barely tall enough to reach the stovetop. I’m forever grateful that he pulled me into the kitchen four years ago to show me the ropes of his Thanksgiving recipes so I can continue on his legacy for our family every year. My only regret in life is not starting this account sooner, so I could have shared all of this with him. I wish so badly that I could call him when I am driving home from a tasting dinner to analyze each dish together or take him as my plus one to foodie dinners and events. It’s only been two years without him, yet it feels like a lifetime. This is all for him🤍 by @eatingthrunola

It has taken me a few days to post my thoughts about GW Fins because it quite literally left me speechless. I understand why they won the awards for best seafood restaurant and second best overall restaurant in New Orleans. Everything we ordered was so fresh, and every element was perfectly seasoned, down to the sauces and garnishes. Plus the service was amazing! Our servers, Kristen and Ben, were very attentive and friendly. This will definitely be one of my new favorite spot to go to when celebrating! And my two favorite item were so good that they deserve a post on their own, so stay tuned for that in the near future👀

Want a little break from the city without having to go far? 🌿 @paradigm_gardens in Central City is the perfect spot! They host so many fun events in their garden, and my favorite is the Chef Showcase. Local chefs come out and cook right in the garden using fresh ingredients and a wood-fired oven. It’s such a fun experience and a great way to try some amazing local food! Give them a follow so you don’t miss out on their upcoming events✨
