✨ steak & chips food truck in Cheltenham, along nepean highway! ✨

late night catch up with friends 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽 ironmaxxing meal! less busy going on a weeknight so that’s a bonus for us :)

🥩 Marrow Pack [$45]: a great MBS7 wagyu striploin cut served on hot seasoned chips, with mushroom sauce on the side to dip as you please. wagyu was insanely fatty and tender, made us crave for more !!! $$$ but sharing is caring so it equates x 8/10

🥪 Slider [$15]: 80g wagyu striploin with marrow garlic ciabatta and chimichurri sauce - very good portion size for 1-2 people to try, would get this again! 7.5/10

🥖 Steak Sandwich [$25]: in a tiger bread roll filled with wagyu striploin, rocket, cheese & mayo! super duper filling oh my goodness!! 7/10

we didn’t realise it’s located next to a drive-through acai/dessert, so naturally dessert was on the agenda! we tried the crepes box [$10.90] which was average (ur normal crepe with strawberry & banana, drizzled on nutella) and classic acai bowl [$14.90] we found the acai was a little icy and watered down 🥹

pov: wisteria bloomed at 📍@montsalvatartscentre 🪻💜

$15pp admission entry, super duper busy on Sunday. opening hours 10am-4pm!

loved how everyone in the wisteria area was patiently waiting their turn for photos 🥹 if you’re planning a visit, I’d recommend bringing your own picnic feast as there’s acres of grass to chill in the sun and enjoy!

the cafe was hectic when we visited, with limited tables and chairs + queues for coffee. so if you’re done exploring the medieval european buildings, head 3 mins down to Main Road for a few cute local cafes!

we stopped by @francoandcoeltham for lunch and OMG… the truffle mushroom pizza was phenomenal - 10/10, with the calamari & chips coming in at 9.5/10! the prawn spaghetti was okay 6/10 ☺️

finally got around to trying charrd, ranked 14th in the world by @worldbeststeakrestaurants & cooked by @yakamozbk 🔥 charrd has been open but just over one year and it’s still popping off!

visited on saturday 6pm, waited 40 mins including pickup of order! skip peak queuing by going earlier or on a weeknight, line does move at an adequate pace bc its takeaway 😅

🍔 Charrd Double [$19]: double patty with charrd sauce and sweet chilli jam sauce! flavourful and packed with a good balance of savoury n sweetness ⭐️

🍟 Fries [$6]: love me some shoestring fries! lightly seasoned and the perfect side to the burger :)

🍋 Ice Lemonade [$7]: think freshly squeezed lemon with a little sourness, mixed with a bit of Schweppes and a couple of pieces of lemon pulp !!

final verdict: worth trying if you’re curious about the hype, but would i queue for another 40 minutes? probably not heheh, even though melbourne is known to lining up everywhere lol. if the queue is much shorter, then no biggie lesgo!

located on the busy Clayton Road, is a strip of restaurants along a residential area that really is often overlooked, this is Nosu KBBQ in Clayton! it’s a small space but quality is unmatched, just look at the quality of meat on offer and that says it all!

🥩 Small Wagyu Set [$130]: three cuts - boneless short rib, oyster blade, marinated deckle + choice of stew. the marbling on all cuts speak for itself oh my goodness!!! super duper tender, so buttery it melt in your mouth. perfect set for 2-3 people! 😮‍💨🤤⭐️

🦀 Raw Marinated Crab [$29]: prepared for easy consumption where you just need to squeeze out the meat in the body! 💯

🎃 Butternut Pumpkin Pancake [$19]: something different than ur average kimchi pancake heheh. the texture is crispy on the outside and a soft inner! 😍

🍋 Yuzu Ade Jug [$20] 🤩

💖 my FAVE COOKIE from Butterboy is their:
Salted Caramel Macadamia & White Choc Cookie [$10] 🤎

that gooey salted caramel centre + the soft, chewy cookie… literally perfection!! it’s a BIG cookie, so the $10 price tag makes a little more sense, $$ but worth the treat 🫶🏻

and it’s not just cookies! Baker also has a range of sweet scrolls, cupcakes, fresh bread and toasties 🥐🍞🧁

love seeing little local spots like this thriving along Main Street, there are so many good eateries packed along this strip! 💌

🍓 Chocolate Covered Strawberries [$12.50] sweet, juicy strawberries coated in chocolate… simple but SO satisfying !!!

yes, the chocolate covered strawberries have been around for a while buttt this new hot chocolate coconut bestie wants to be the main character too!! 🥹

✨ trying the crunchy potato cakes in Mornington! ✨

🤎 Housemade Hawkes Farm Potato Cakes 2pcs [$6]: it says two pieces but when I opened the bag there was THREE 👀 i call that a win heheh 🤫

that same potato starchiness comes through in these potato cakes, if that’s more up ya alley!
you can opt for chicken salt for that extra oomph. otherwise, the batter itself has a nice savoury flavour. in terms of size, about a regular potato 🫱🏼‍🫲🏽

if you’ve tried the BEST HOT CHIPS from @hawkes_farm ($8) you would be familiar with how godly these “thrice-cooked” baddies are?! uhm so yeah these potato cakes are on the starchier side, thicker chunk of potato rather than a slice!

lowkey i’d still go for the hot chips at Hawkes Farm over the potato cakes BUT what do y’all reckon?! would you be adding this to your Mornington day trip? 💌
