The hype on La Mar is well deserved. Popular with locals and tourists alike. The Causa, Ceviche, Octopus with olive sauce, and Arroz Enchichado with Congrio fish. Al stellar. One of our favorite meals in Cusco was at OQRE at the swanky Belmond hotel, a former monastery. Beautiful property, great service, and outstanding food. Some of the most interesting dishes in Peru came at @quipaslima scallops from the north with bits of Asparagus and a light cream of herbs, asparagus, lime and other goodies. Then there’s the fine corn empanadas, the staple corn and cheese, baby octopus that looks pretty mature to me. And maybe best of all the outrageous cherimoya fruit dessert. taken in Quipas by @eatingwithziggy

This is Palccoyo, the other Rainbow Mountain. Probably the most scenic hike I’ve ever done. Easy under normal circumstances but not at 16k. Three Rainbow Mountains for the price of one. Loco Bistro in #cusco. An eclectic menu influenced by the owners travels all over the world. Orange glazed carrots with yogurt and nuts. Nikkei Bites, think crispy rice with spicy tuna but of course local trout instead. Mushroom cheese truffle croquettes. Seafood rice for the win.
