It’s finally happening. Mustards Craft BBQ is getting a home.

From testing recipes in our home kitchen to handing orders out of our garage, opening a restaurant has always been the dream.

For the past three years, we’ve been working to make it happen. We explored spaces in multiple cities, but finding a place that could accommodate our cooking process brought challenge after challenge. There were moments when we wondered how long it would take, but we kept believing in what we were building.

The food truck was meant to be a placeholder while we worked toward that dream. Along the way, it became such a meaningful part of our story because it brought us to you.

You showed up for garage pickups. You found our truck. You waited in line, brought your friends, shared our food, and gave us reasons to keep going when the next step felt far away. Every order helped us get here.

Now, we finally get to say it: we’re bringing our Texas inspired smoked meats to a brick and mortar in the suburbs of Chicago.

A place to gather around good food, make memories, and share something we’ve poured our hearts into. After years of working toward this moment, putting these words out into the world feels almost unreal.

There’s still work ahead, and we can’t wait to take you along as it all comes together. Thank you for believing in us, supporting us, and helping turn those garage pickups into something bigger than we could have imagined.

Nothing like sharing some burnt ends with Villa Park’s finest. 🔥

Pitmaster Alex made sure members of the Villa Park Police Department got a taste while we were out at Villa Fest this weekend.

A huge thank you to the Village of Villa Park for putting together such a great event and welcoming us into the community. We SOLD OUT, and the feedback, conversations, and support we received throughout the day meant a lot to our entire team.

Since the news of our brick and mortar started going viral, we’ve been meeting some pretty cool customers. This one was especially sweet.

An owner stopped by to buy their service dog a Mustards burger as a special treat, and it warmed our hearts. Service animals deserve all the love. They do so much for the people who depend on them, and seeing that care returned in a simple, thoughtful way was something special.

A little moment that made our day, and we’re so glad we got to be part of it.

Another week of Mustards pop ups! We’re introducing Thursday Night Special Menu Drops, where we switch things up and bring you something different from our usual BBQ lineup! This Thursday we’ll be in Westmont serving up Smash Burgers + Jambalaya! While this week’s Thursday drop will be in Westmont, locations may change each week, so keep an eye on our weekly schedule for announcements. Preordering is available, so lock in your order before we sell out. Saturday we’re heading to Wheaton for Memorial Park After Dark, a 21+ evening event, and Sunday we’re wrapping things up at the State Street Artisan Market in Geneva. We smoke in batches to keep the quality where we want it, so we may sell out before the posted end times. Come early, bring your appetite, and catch us while you can!

What a Saturday! Thank you to everyone who came out and tried our special menu!

Alex has been having some fun in the kitchen, and judging by the feedback, you all are here for it.

Smoked cream cheese. Smoked chicken and cornbread waffles. A loaded cornbread waffle stacked with pulled brisket, mac and cheese and Swiss chard. Yes, better than Da Baby’s 😂. And a breakfast brisket croissant with an egg cooked your way.

We also introduced sides with gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options, giving everyone a little more to choose from.

The best part was hearing what you loved and what you want to see again. We’re having a lot of fun creating, experimenting and showing you a different side of Mustards.

And Alex is just getting started.

MEET OUR NEW PITMASTER 🔥

From New Orleans → Champaign → Texas → Mustards.

Meet Alex, our newest pitmaster.

A New Orleans native and former University of Illinois football player, Alex eventually made his way to Texas, where he served as General Manager of a Texas Monthly Top 50 BBQ joint and sharpened his craft in one of the country’s most respected BBQ scenes.

Now he’s bringing that experience to Mustards, working alongside Mo as we continue to push our BBQ forward.
