Some storms don't come to destroy you.

Some come to introduce you to the version of yourself you haven't met yet.

This one's for everybody who made it through something they thought they wouldn't.

FLOOD. 🌊

We flipped a rock classic into a soul-stirring ritual.
Black women reimagining Dream On @aerosmith —not just singing it, but reclaiming it.
This is what it sounds like when history, power, and presence collide.

Live at Artscape. We don’t just perform—we awaken.

Before the instruments. Before the storm.

Just voices. One frequency. A warning hidden in the harmonies. 🌊

Sometimes the most powerful sound is the one that makes you stop and listen.

This is the sound of FLOOD before the flood.

In all honesty we had a fun time filming and bringing an idea to life ✨ go follow @eatthecakeband and make sure to stream our new song #Flood available on all platforms by @eatthecakeband

Just a casual stroll along the shoreline...

A little fresh air. A mysterious bottle of wine. 🍷

And somehow, we ended up in the middle of a FLOOD. 🌊

Funny how life works. One minute you're minding your business, the next you're knee-deep in something you never saw coming.

Rain and thunder. Going under.

But are we really?

Somewhere between reality and the ridiculous, you'll find us. 🎂

Not every flood happens outside of us. 🌊

Some happen quietly, behind smiles, inside memories, in the moments we don't know how to explain what we're feeling.

And sometimes the hardest storms are the ones nobody knows we're standing in.

Art gives those feelings somewhere to go.

A page. A melody. A little rain and thunder.

Because even the things we struggle to say deserve to be heard.

What's a storm you survived that nobody knew you were going through? 🖤

Some people check the weather.

Jahi checks the frequency. 📡🌩️

One look at the sky and he already knew...

“Flood's coming.” 🌊

The warning was never really about the weather.

And now the FLOOD is here.

Me: "Okay, this is a SERIOUS scene. The flood is coming. We need drama. Suspense. FEAR." 🌩️

Them: 😂😂😂

Every time I zoomed in, somebody lost it.

At this point, the only thing coming was another laughing fit. 😭

Behind every dramatic cinematic moment is somebody trying not to laugh.

And honestly? These are the moments that make creating together so much fun.

Somewhere in the middle of the street, after dark, we decided to make a little noise. 🌙⚡

No stage. No crowd. No perfect lighting.

Just eight souls, some instruments, and a whole lot of energy that refused to stay contained.

The camera didn't catch every detail.

But it caught the FEELING.

And sometimes that's the part worth keeping.

A little rain. A little thunder. A little imagination. 🌩️🌊

One side is what the camera saw.

The other is what we saw in our heads.

That's the beautiful thing about creating with people who understand the vision. You can start with something simple and build an entire world around it.

And those vocals? They were bringing the storm before we added a single effect. 🎤⚡

Rain and thunder. Going under.

BTS vs. the final vision.

Which side are your eyes drawn to first? 👀

Ask eight people what a flood means, and you might get eight different answers. 🌊

For some, it's loss. For others, it's release. A breaking point. A cleansing. A moment when life leaves you no choice but to become someone new.

That's the thing about art. We can create something together and still experience it through completely different lenses.

Same song. Different storms.

Here's what FLOOD means to us.

Now we're curious...

When you hear the word FLOOD, what comes to mind? 🌊
