Ten years in. A (re)introduction: Hello, I’m Rocket, the artist behind Eat Vermont. Swipe to read some backstory. The challenge of being vulnerable and purely myself in public only grows as the audience does, but I am striding into the wind. I’m a man in process - always changing, ideally growing. There are too many people to thank here who deserve credit for helping me stay my course. Authenticity is a lighthouse, if we can find it. My mission is + to plant trees in the shade of which I will never sit + to be a stone that you might rely upon as you cross the river + to live relentlessly in pursuit of a brighter morning Next year, we party on October 14. Eat Vermont Day! 🤍🎉 - Senator Rocket by @eatvermont

Meet Kevin Archambeault, the bbq wizard behind ShireTown Marketplace in Middlebury! 🔥 @shiretownmarketplace Kevin grew up in his grandma’s diner in upstate New York, then built a barbecue catering program in California wine country. His barbecue education also took him to The Salt Lick in Driftwood, Texas, where he learned the smokey art of BBQ. Kevin and his wife Dani moved their family to Vermont in 2018 and have brought their 'chops' to Middlebury: brisket, bone-in pork shoulders, local turkey, ribs, and chicken wings that get smoked THEN fried. 🍗 For those of us who know Middlebury well, we've seen this place be home to so many food establishments. Couldn't be more glad that ShireTown is here, feeding the community. 🍦 Find all local Vermont food greatness on the Eat Vermont mobile app: www.eatvermont.com. 📍Middlebury #eatvt #eatvermont #vermont by @eatvermont
I'm late (obviously, if you watch), but the point still stands. Come support and celebrate progress in Rochester! 🍂 The good news: Chelsea is opening Little Bluestem in the former Sandy’s Books & Bakery space! Originally from Ohio and new to the area, she’s signed a lease to bring a bakery and café back to this spot. ☕️🥐 @littlebluestemcoffee This town has had a rough stretch of restaurant closures (3 within 8 months! 💀). It's been a mission of mine to help cheer on Rochester until we get a little more culinary life back here. So, welcome Chelsea! 💛 While you’re visiting, stop for dinner at Maple Soul - who source locally and have been holding it down, browse the bookstore, and visit Anni Mackay’s BigTown Gallery and Doon Hinderyckx’s Green Mountain Bikes. 🫛 📝 Note: BigTown’s Hugh Townley: Grand Finale exhibition runs through Sunday, October 25, celebrating the late sculptor’s colorful, intricate work in wood. 🎨 (I know my timeline for posting this is not giving you much time, but it's a great show.) Meet Stephanie Choate, the energy behind Pie Empire! 🥧 Stephanie fell in love with handheld meat pies while traveling through Australia and New Zealand. She couldn’t find the same thing back home, so she started making them herself. Over a decade later, Pie Empire, based in Fairfax, is still dishing out this locally-sourced comfort food. Stephanie works directly with Vermont farms, including Maple Wind Farm, Rolling Meadows Farm in Underhill, and Moultroup Valley Farm in Richmond. 🌱 Pie Empire pops up at farmers markets in the summer and does brewery pop-ups in the winter. Follow them on socials or peep their website www.pieempire.com to see where they'll be! Meet Milagro, the woman behind SIBER Mushrooms and her team of SIBER Huskies! 🍄🐾 @sibersleddogs @sibermushrooms I first met Milagro a few years ago in Jeffersonville, where she was doing demos with her sled dogs. This time, I found her at the Richmond Farmers Market on a different Vermont adventure: selling her locally grown gourmet mushrooms. Originally from Honduras and now based in Cambridge, Vermont, Milagro grows oyster mushrooms, lion’s mane, bear’s head, coral tooth, shiitake, chestnut, and more. 🌱 The SIBER name comes from the huskies she runs in the winter. Super cool. Madonna (in the vid) is a puppy who’s training to become a future lead dog alongside her great-great-grandpa, Drogo. 🐶🛷 Find all local Vermont food greatness on the Eat Vermont mobile app: www.eatvermont.com. 📍Richmond Farmers Market #eatvt #eatvermont #vermont by @eatvermont
Scenes from yesterday’s Fall Harvest Dinner at Hall Art Foundation. 🎨 Hall Art Foundation is a beautiful spot for art lovers. They’re open to the public on weekends(11AM-4PM) through November, just south of Woodstock on Route 106. @hall_art_foundation They serve grab-and-go food by Brownsville Butcher & Pantry, which is just a couple miles down the road, in their onsite Cafe Lex. 🍂 @brownsvillebutcher BB&P also served dinner last night out of their custom mobile truck, accompanied by hard ciders from Mark Hall’s Puckerbrush Cider. 🍎 @newhallfarm802 @puckerbrushvt Currently on view: work by Christian Marclay, Piotr Uklański, and a group show called A Farewell to the Western World. 📍Reading #eatvermont #eatvt #vermont by @eatvermont
