Hey Aggies! My name is Simrit Singh, and I’m honored to serve as your 2026–27 ASUCD External Affairs Vice President!

I’ve spent my time at UC Davis not only navigating systems that weren’t always built with me in mind, but also advocating for myself and others to make those systems more accessible and equitable. That experience has shaped how I approach advocacy: I know what it feels like to be unheard, overlooked, or left out, and I want to make sure Aggies have a voice in the decisions that affect them.

I’m also no stranger to this work. Before serving as @asucd.eavp, I had the opportunity to serve as Chair of the ASUCD External Affairs Commission, a Senate Staffer, and a Student Health & Wellness Coordinator. Through these roles, I’ve led 40+ student-facing events, distributed 2,000+ free flashlights, organized workshops, worked with administrators and elected officials, launched Aggie Deals student discounts, written legislation, lobbied at the State Capitol, and worked to strengthen UC Davis’ voice at the state and national level.

This year, I’m focused on “Breaking Barriers, Building Opportunities.” I want to make advocacy more visible and accessible, create more opportunities for students to engage in policy and lobbying, and make sure student voices are represented not just on campus, but in Sacramento and beyond.

I believe leadership starts with listening. Whether you have an idea, concern, policy issue, or just want to get involved, I want my office to be a resource for YOU.
You deserve an ASUCD that shows up and delivers 🤝🗣️

Now that you know a little about me… what do YOU want to see from the EAVP office this year? 👀👇🏽

Stay tuned for the work we’ll be doing this year, and as always, feel free to DM me with questions, ideas, or ways you want to get involved!

Large distressed text at the top reads “GET PAID TO SUPPORT DEMOCRACY,” with a red “POWER THE POLLS” logo in the upper-right corner. The graphic has two main columns: the left explains what poll workers do, including setting up and managing the polling place, greeting and checking in voters, assisting disabled voters, providing assistance to voters, handing out “I Voted” stickers, and other duties; the right explains benefits of becoming a poll worker, including getting involved and assisting voters, contributing to the community, and earning extra money, with a note that the amount varies by county. A lower section explains eligibility, stating that a poll worker must be a registered California voter, alongside a prominent navy-and-red “AGGIES THIS IS FOR YOU!” graphic and text explaining that applicants do not need to be political science majors or have prior election experience.
