I didn’t take any videos of myself making this piece. Which was bad for the algorithm but good for me personally. So here are some random progress pics from the process. This is #2 in my bone series 💀

Ventral view of a bear skull, abstracted. Graphite will always be my favorite medium. 🐻

I’ve been slowly working on a new body of work. Mostly thinking, sketching, collecting & rearranging. Drawing the same forms until I start to see things.

I keep returning to bones, first because they’re fascinating and beautiful, strong and delicate at the same time. Symbols of death, hidden structures, architecture all at once, persisting after everything else has changed & died. Arranging them feels like I get to play Victor Frankenstein in my studio, using old remains to create new life 🧟‍♀️

I’ve been thinking about what makes things beautiful, and meaningful. What types of things are associated with beauty and what of death and where that overlap and intersection lies.

The first arrangement. Still figuring it out.

Been working on a new chalk pastel series that’s sucking the life out of me..in a good way..I think ..I hope..possibly 🫠 here’s a lil time lapse of the moon which actually only occupies about 2% of the piece’s full real estate. It big.
