Visible mending (sashiko) project on these 501s!!

This project took me 10+ hours, it’s the first time I’ve done a large scale mending project like this. The client came to me with a sentimental pair of 501’s they have since discontinued, asking for reinforcement from the thigh all the way down below the knee. The previous repair (red embroidery) had begun to rip around the edges due to continued love and use. I used a Japanese visible mending technique (called sashiko) in a lattice like pattern. I’m always thankful for the trust my clientele has in me to make things like these happen!!! by @ebandsew

New username debut!! It came to me when I was driving in the car without music on, the ebb and flow of my sewing endeavors have finally inspired something beyond “erinsootds”. Thank you to my people who’ve been here since this was a 9th grade outfit documentation, didn’t think it would eventually turn into showcasing my art!!!
