🩷 SOME MOMENTS ARE MORE THAN EVENTS. THEY ARE THE BEGINNING OF A MOVEMENT.
Last Saturday, something beautiful happened.
For the first time, the FUTO Women Association (Futowa) came together for a Fitness Fair — not simply to exercise, but to celebrate life, strength, wellness, and the incredible power of women coming together for a common purpose.
Under the visionary leadership of the Association’s President, Dr. Mrs. Chinomso Patricia Dozie, women stepped forward, moved together, laughed together, connected, and reminded themselves that taking care of your health is an act of love.
And there was an even deeper message behind the celebration.
In partnership with Hearts and Roses Cancer Advocacy Foundation, the Fitness Fair became more than a fitness event. It became a reminder that our health deserves attention long before sickness forces us to pay attention.
Because sometimes, awareness begins with a simple decision:
“I will take better care of myself.”
As we journey toward October 17th — Pink October, that message becomes even more powerful.
🩷 A reminder to know your body.�🩷 A reminder to pay attention to changes.�🩷 A reminder to seek information and professional medical advice.�🩷 A reminder to support those walking through cancer.�🩷 A reminder that no woman should feel alone.
Last Saturday may have been the first FUTO Women Association Fitness Fair, but hopefully, it is not the last.
It is the beginning of something bigger.
A culture of healthier women.�A culture of informed women.�A culture of women who support one another.�A culture where wellness and cancer awareness are conversations we are not afraid to have.
And on October 17th, we continue that conversation.
We wear pink. 🩷�We raise awareness.�We stand together.�We choose life.

One of the moments I documented recently was a portrait session with Dr. Mrs. Chinomso Patricia Dozie, wife of the Vice Chancellor of the Federal University of Technology, Owerri (FUTO), in her office at the Hearts & Roses Cancer Advocacy Foundation.

During the visit, she welcomed Engr. Chizitere Ahubelem (Chizzy Whizzy) and a few other guests for discussions focused on collaboration, community impact, and Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives.

@heartsandrosescafoundation is committed to improving the lives of cancer patients and their families through early detection, education, advocacy, support, and cancer screening. Through its work, the Foundation continues to promote hope, raise awareness, and encourage timely access to care.

Being behind the camera for moments like these is always fulfilling. Every image tells a story, and this one reflects compassion, service, and a shared commitment to making a positive impact.
