In 2023, I interviewed for a backstage internship at Lagos Fashion Week and got rejected. If only I’d known that a year later, I’d be living in the fashion capital of the world, I wouldn’t have felt as defeated as I did when I got the rejection email.

In 2025, I paid to attend an art show during Paris Fashion Week, wore my lil chic outfit and stepped out all alone. As I came out, paparazzi started flashing their cameras aggressively at me. Then they stopped when they saw my confusion. I found out later that evening that a major fashion house had held a show in the same building around that time, and I looked like I was coming from it. All I had to do was pose, speak some French and network so I could get my pictures. But at the time, I had no idea how any of this worked. If only I’d known that a year later, I’d have a photography and styling team, I wouldn’t have felt as slow as I did that evening.

I guess what I’m trying to say is, as long as there’s life, there’s a possibility of an unimaginably better next time.

📍Îlot du Ponant in Le Plessis-Robinson. Took a day trip about an hour from Paris.

The colorful buildings and airy gardens gave me so much dopamine, I started thinking about moving to the neighborhood 😩 I already have contacts for agents in the area, and I’m genuinely not even kidding.
