The best 7 weeks in Rockford doing Unnecessary Farce with Artists’ Ensemble Theatre. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my first out of town contract and equity debut. So grateful for all of these people, to my host family and especially grateful to our incredible director, Richard Raether for the opportunity to perform this insanely fun show. Break a leg to our “wonderstudies” of “Ruthless! The Musical” as they take the stage tonight for our Understudy Performance (May 15 at 7:30pm). ⭐️ Limited seating is still available at citadeltheatre.org 🎟️ Understudies are the unsung heroes of the stage: always prepared to step in at a moment’s notice because the show must go on. Tonight is a chance to celebrate the incredible talent, dedication, and versatility that keeps live theatre alive. And if you know “Ruthless!”, you know this show has a special connection to understudies. Tina Denmark begins the musical as Pippi’s understudy and will do whatever it takes to get her moment in the spotlight. 8 years of headshots! Crazy it’s been almost a decade since I had the wild idea to jump into this industry with no acting degree & knowing no one in the business. I had absolutely no idea what I was doing when I showed up to my first acting class, first audition (or maybe first couple years of auditions 😂..), first headshot session, etc. All I knew was this was what I was meant to be doing and I would work really hard and figure it out. I actually can’t believe this is where I am today. I’m my biggest critic, but when I take a step back, I am proud of fully embracing the quarter life crisis and rewriting the direction of my life. It’s not without its many challenges, like basically working 3 full-time jobs, but the art we create and the lives we impact are 1000% worth it. I am only here because of the incredible people I met along the way and their coaching, mentorship, and friendship. There is still so much opportunity to grow, and I can’t wait for all of it - the successes, the challenges, and everything in between. Go chase your dreams, friends! by @ebushell22

What a crazy, crazy year…! When we thought life couldn’t get any busier, it was for sure our busiest year yet! Some highlights: 🏡 We moved again, pretty spontaneously and Bella 🐶 has enjoyed the excitement of living under construction for half the year 🤣 (and I have gotten to project manage my first renovation and dust off the interior design skills for round 2.. not sure I’d recommend this along with a full-time job, but we are excited that the finish line is somewhat in sight!) 🌆Produced 8 events with The Beautiful City Project, raising funds & awareness for a number of incredible local nonprofits 📝 Decided I wanted to split my time more evenly between plays & musicals and prioritized taking my first two scene study classes since Black Box 🎭 Worked with 5 theatres for the first time + returned to Citadel where I had the incredible opportunity to understudy one of my favorites, Ellen Phelps (Annie in Misery) in my first external u/s role 🎶 Performed in three musicals, including a world premiere and expanded my vocal range pretty significantly 🎉 Participated in my first national tour callback process and received my first two equity offers 😊 And Joe and I are starting off 2026 rehearsing for the same show for the first time in over a year!!! For a couple years we did a bunch of shows together, but I’m realizing that these opportunities may not come often..and we are grateful 🙏 Tired and missing the many friends I haven’t seen in far too long but grateful to be continuing pursuit of this longtime dream alongside my partner-in-crime. Also grateful to be healthy and for the health of our family and friends. Thank you to so many of you for all of your continued love and support, and cheers to 2026! by @ebushell22

About last night… Truly overwhelmed by the love and support for Jason and me in our Misery understudy performance at @citadeltheatreco. This show is a beast, and words cannot express how grateful I am to the almost 100(?!) of you that came out to support us. Truly humbled and so appreciative of every single one of you and the energy and enthusiasm you brought to the show. I will never forget last night. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. To @th3atr3guy - the best fellow understudy I could have asked for. Thank you for your kindness, thoughtfulness, creativity and humor - and for all of the Cheez its 😊 What a wild and fun ride this show has been. Some Highlights of 2024: 👶Became aunt to my sister’s adorable son, Leo and witnessed the joy of my parents becoming grandparents🎗️Joined the best mission-driven team, helping @thebeautifulcityproject raise funds for 5 incredible nonprofits and producing my first two shows 🇮🇹Spent a month in Italy performing in Les Mis and vacationing with @joebushell32 👰🏻‍♀️Reunited with my favorite NYC crew to celebrate @jpb543!🎵Sang almost every day and experienced significant growth in my voice 💃Drove out to Aurora (a lot) to train with the best (@mattpospeshil) and booked a tap show despite some ppl telling me this goal was unrealistic 🎭 Learned new dialects for two roles that were initially outside of my comfort zone and grew so much from them 🤩Cheered Joe on in his first equity role! 👯‍♀️Co-directed & choreographed Willy Wonka Jr. So much respect for all of you who do this on a regular basis.. it is hard work! 📹First national tour audition - by far the most challenging audition package I’ve ever put together👩‍💼Grateful to have full time work all year through my independent consulting business (and the flexibility to take off all of July to perform) 💪I’m my biggest critic, but ending the year with much more confidence in myself than when I started the year. Proud of continuing to put so much hard work and heart into a difficult craft, but one that I love so much. Grateful for all of the old and new friends and the coaches, mentors and directors who continue to believe in me. However, in typical fashion, I probablyyy took on too much this year 😊. Joe and I had minimal free time together, and I lost touch with important people in my life. Figuring out how to do better in this aspect of my life next year. ❤️ Happy New Year, friends! by @ebushell22

This show meant so much to me. Truly the best experience - bringing a whole lot of laughter to packed audiences with the most amazing group of people. I’m so grateful for how much this show helped me to grow as an actor; lots of firsts, including first British farce (and finally learning a proper British dialect!) and thankful I somehow made it through our run on a sprained ankle. Immense gratitude to our fantastic director, Jack Hickey and Citadel Theatre for entrusting me with the role of Sylvia, to our production team for all of the beautiful work and care that went into this show, and our cast - you made this truly something special. Getting to perform with you was such an honor and some of the most fun I’ve ever had. Love you all and can’t wait for the next time we perform together ❤️ taken in Citadel Theatre by @ebushell22

I still can’t believe I got to spend the last month in Italy and perform Les Mis with this insanely talented group!
