POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
Was planning another meaningless slideshow just so I could say I posted. But while I was scrolling, trying to find enough pictures, I came across one I’d sent my mom last semester (see last photo). I remember how quickly she asked if I was okay, and how annoyed I felt. Why couldn’t she just be happy for me for getting smaller? In my head, I didn’t even look “thin enough” for her to be worried. I could still only see something I wasn’t happy with.
No matter how hard I pushed myself, I couldn’t get away from the comments. Some were said casually while some stuck more than others, my personal favorite (not) being “the only eating disorder Ella could ever have is a binge eating disorder”, nonetheless, all of them found a way to stay. And eventually they turned into the way I saw myself. Everything started revolving around it - workouts, meals, going out. It stopped being about living and started being about shrinking. And the worst part is, it never actually felt like enough. Every time I thought I was getting somewhere, the goal was now 5 lbs farther.
I started a fitness account because I wanted something fun, and because I wanted to encourage the people around me to do hard things. But when I look back at that version of myself, she doesn’t look like she’s enjoying any of it. She looks tired. She wasn’t capable of doing the things I can do now - not just physically, but in how I show up for people. She didn’t have the patience to talk to her little brother. She didn’t have the energy to take her dog on a walk anymore. The “hard thing” in question doesn’t mean the grueling workouts on an empty stomach. Sometimes it’s choosing to step away from the mindset that’s been running your life, even when it feels uncomfortable. Choosing to heal is hard, but staying stuck is harder. And there’s so much more waiting for you when you do - more freedom, more joy, more of yourself. by @ecatb_fit

Hey! My name is Ella Beccue, and I’m a Kinesiology major with goals to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. As a personal diary of any and all progress made, I figured I’d make a page dedicated to sharing my day to day whether it be lifting, running, or volleyball (usually all three)

This is a fun way to remain motivated and track my progress alongside encouraging friends! by @ecatb_fit
