I had such a good time taking over the cozy corner and writing customer their own personalized poems! There was apple cider, candy, and treats // 🥧

I watched “When Harry Met Sally” “Steel Magnolia” and “Little Women” // checked those off my watch list! I love my girls Nessa and Sammy for having me and being so accommodating// 🤍

Poets & writers // Come to Long Beach at Mangiafoglie @mangia.foglie for our newest event “Congregation for Writers” // SALON SPEAKINGS //

Tuesday, September 22nd from 6-10pm
At Mangiafoglie
2306 E Fourth St
Long Beach, CA 90814

This is a free event // purchases with Mangiafoglie to enjoy the writer with // tips for our cause is happily accepted, as we lead the gathering // INVITE ALL THE STRANGE POETS NEEDING A HOME FOR POETRY SALONS//

We will take time to mingle, create generative conversations around our writing, speak in groups and collectively, work independently as much or as little as you’d like, write through some generative prompts, and participate in an open mic at the end //

We will take time to measure these shells of this beach when we learn about each other // we will take time to braid the lost memories taken away by age // we will mend in ways only a drawer could consume //

All of this is just structure if needed. You are more than welcome to just be in the space to read and/or write completely independently //

This is a restaurant/cafe space, so we ask that everyone support by purchasing food and/or drinks, as form of appreciation for lending their space for us //

a family of quails passing through for food // it was hard to capture them since they’re so quick on their toes // i love quail eggs // beautiful egg pattern, too //

i peed in the water, of course //

a dial found in the lens of the binoculars, pretty sure it’s a portal // perception isn’t just taking in the atmosphere, it’s a spirituality //

yellow flower brought from home to bring omen with friends to create bonds //

the sea adjacent to the sky like laying on the bare chest of mother after being born //

a pocket of stones and gems collected by this cove // i can’t believe how cute this is //

i am wearing seaweed // seaweed queen that crawled out of the cove pocket!

this is a bed i would like to sleep in/ jesus lord, would a spider take me in?

caca rock holding all of us together // a pure, unwanted thing // we love it

majestic fire bought from the liquor store // I bought one and so did alex // great minds think alike //

king’s corners // collected items to weight the game // tiggy from oak grove center showed me this game, as it was the only thing that kept them from killing themselves //

the moon peaking behind the mountains! // I was constantly watching for the rise each night // we stayed present together //

this is a dead fish // trying to breathe // oops // the hornets got to it and it got to me, too // [i got stung]

with an octopus hat? or squid? // i am not really sure of anything anymore // i am set free

we sat on the rocky area to look out the ocean // we both talked about our future & made jokes //

me extremely done with the trip because I was sick the whole time // thanks a lot, braylen [the kid i work with at school] // the flowers are tryna kiss me to make me better //

“there are pirates over there” // i would know // i had a pirate for a neighbor // and yes, they pirate dvds and do illegal activities /// suffice to say, i wear earplugs now as i am a light sleeper // thanks a lot, josh //

our cruise back to san pedro // first stop was avalon on catalina island // rich heads and their bad food // anyway, we are all posing here

These double-exposure portraits of Victoria opened my eyes to what Portraits of Presence is truly about: as much an investigation of myself as it is of others.
In witnessing her passion and creative freedom, I recognized a part of myself that had been buried for years. Slowly, curiosity is taking the place of fear—and I am allowing myself to emerge as an artist.

We are a group of artists who are experimenting with creating double exposures, fusing, blending and bringing a little magic to our images.⁠ ⁠This is week 34 of my 52 week double exposures #fusedbyme challenge

Hello! I am here to introduce myself again // my name is Victoria Hurtado, and I am a poet. I live in Long Beach, and I was born and raised here. I went to school for creative writing, received my BA there & received MFA at UC Riverside. I host art shows all around SoCal with my collective @artofnothing.press // I am collaborating with Clay Wood @claywood.ceramics for social media marketing for his special ceramics dinnerware living art for chefs and restaurants to stay ::::::

I have no choice but to be in the niche of art// to be so specific and alive// Vessel Poetics came about in April 2026, and I’ve been a SoCal vagabond since, riding around with my typewriter, Beau, and setup, writing people personalized and divining poems with my full heart. This is my experiment, so I want to try anything that feels right! This is my expansion on the psyche and its ability to process the world by poetic lesions & healing!

So far, I’ve been a resident for dinner service, like @steakfreakslbc // I have tabled at many small businesses around Long Beach, I have reached LA for markets // I am looking to be booked for more private events [weddings, birthdays, gatherings] // I am looking to be an artist resident at other businesses for consistent work.

I mean everything I do and I hope to surprise people. I hope to change people and to remind them of things. I am here to devote myself to people for my intellectual parts, my divinity instincts to get to the depths, and my insufferable poetic nature.

I am looking for work everyday to table. I want to be found anywhere and everywhere. Please reach out to inquire about business, booking, collaborations, and whatever there is that comes from your mind.
