This piece of art work is a part of my brother ‘s exhibit. “ What does sound look like.” In the series he is playing in the dark with illuminated drum sticks. Guess what the name of this one is? A hint is that it is red. If you guessed “Ethel” you are right. Everyone who knows me knows it’s my favorite color. Don’t forget to shine your light! by @ecdancin

I was so excited to meet Ms.Linda Swint an original member of the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater. We talked about Alvin Ailey and what it was like in the early stages of the company. She did a great job staging “ Battleworks” Etude by Robert Battle for the students this summer. Just magical. by @ecdancin

Yesterday was on FIRE! My 10-12 year old students at” Steps” lit up the dance floor and performed like the stars they are becoming. I’m deeply grateful to both Camille A Brown( Tony nominated choreographer) and multi- talented supervisor, Catherine Foster, for the opportunity to teach there this summer. My heart is full from the beautiful notes and love from my students and their families. Yesterday also marked one year since my mother ‘s street was renamed “ Annie May Calhoun Way” Her love continues to guide me and inspire me. Yes, love never fails. by @ecdancin
