On a mission to fuel the creativity and Entrepreneurial spirit of the next Generation!
POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
50 teams had ₹1,000 each and 7 days to turn it into real money! 💰

That was The ₹1000 Hustle challenge, organised by E-Cell for our newest batch of students! Each team of 5 got ₹1,000 in seed capital and no pitch decks or business plans. They had to pick a product, source it, price it, find real customers and make the sales happen.

They also took their products beyond campus, to hostels, housing societies, cafes, college events and even Church Street in Bangalore!

🔥 One team heard “no” 41 times going shop to shop in Electronic City and kept going. Their NFC business found customers as far as Gujarat!
🔥 Another team tried jewellery, posters, T-shirts and frozen food, then pivoted to clothes, bought in bulk and sold to tourists, local vendors and foreigners!

The week added up to ₹5.31 lakh in revenue from 38 teams and ₹2.39 lakh in profit, about 2.7x last year. 36 of 38 teams ended with more money than they started with!

What our students learned:
→ A good product is not enough, take it to your customers
→ High revenue alone does not make a good business, margins, stock and repeat sales matter too
→ Plans change on the ground, and fast adjusters did better
→ Showing up every day pays off, Day 7 was the biggest day!

They felt the pressure of limited cash, the discomfort of approaching strangers and the joy of a first sale!

Our winners from the ₹30,000 prize pool 🏆

🥇 1st place, TEAM 7: Devansh Goyal, Mehakpreet Singh, Path Agrawal, Rudra Verma, Muskaan Prasad
🥈 2nd place, TEAM 29: Rudransh Grover, Riya Master, Aditya Mehta, Sparsh Upadhyay, Aditi Shah
🏅 Most Consistent, TEAM 39: Saransh Gaur, Atharv Agarwal, Swapnil Jaiswal, Ridham Parakh, Raghava SV
🚀 Best Scalable Business, TEAM 19: Vaibhaavi Uttam, Tanmay Puri, Avani Deshpande, Aditya Mohite, Shiwang Gupta

So proud of all 38 teams who ran it to the end! More challenges like this are coming soon!

200+ founders, investors, and industry leaders were on our campus on the same day, yesterday! 🙌

That was SAIS 26, the Startup and Investors Summit, hosted at Scaler School of Technology to bring founders and investors into the same room for pitches, panels, and insightful conversations about building startups.

We are so glad we could create this kind of entrepreneurial ecosystem for our students, and the day was truly power packed.

Here is a glimpse of what it all looked like:

→ The day opened with a Founders Panel featuring Subham Kumar Boundia (Superleap AI CRM), Prashant Parashar (profound.me), Sanket Sahu (GeekyAnts & RapidNative), and Rishabh Nigam (Toffee Coffee Roasters), who spoke about the early struggles of building a company and the lessons that only come from actually doing it.

→ Next came elevator pitches from our own top idea-stage teams, giving students the chance to stand in front of a room full of investors and defend their idea in under 2 minutes!

→ The Investors Panel brought together Sunil Cavale (Speciale Invest), Nikhil Patil (Atomic Capital), Sameer Aggarwal (SucSEED Ventures), and Rishav Agarwal (Picxele®️), who broke down exactly what makes them say yes to a founder and what makes them walk away.

→ 15 startups took the stage for a live Pitch Competition, each with just six minutes to convince the room.

→ The day closed with a Founder Fireside Chat, followed by open networking where our students had the opportunity to connect with founders and investors 1:1 and learn from them.

Student founders from our 1st year to 4th year were part of this, pitching startups they have been building on campus and getting direct feedback from people who invest and build for a living. Some picked up real investor interest, others got clear direction on how to sharpen or pivot their idea.

This entire event was powered by Scaler Innovation Lab, Founders Connect, and the tireless work of our students from our Entrepreneurship Cell, and covered end to end by our media club.

We were so glad to bring these many incredible people onto our campus in one room, and we cannot wait for the next one! 💙 taken in Scaler School of Technology by @ecell_sst

The person who helped scale Practo from its first line of code to millions of users spent a day on campus teaching our students how to validate their own startup ideas!

Ajay Rungta joined Scaler School of Technology as the first speaker in our SAIS 26 Masterclass Series, and the room was full of founders and students trying to figure out one thing: is my idea even worth building?

He broke it down for them, drawing from 18 years at Practo as founding engineer and Chief of Staff to the CTO, and years of angel investing and mentoring founders across 20+ Tier-1 incubators including IIMs, IITs, BITS, and T-Hub.

Here is a slice of what he unpacked for our students:
→ How to size a market using TAM, SAM, and SOM without pretending you know more than you do
→ Why problem-first beats solution-first, with Swiggy, Meesho, and Urban Company as proof
→ How to turn a vague idea into a sharp customer persona using Jobs-to-be-Done
→ What actually convinces an investor in a pitch deck, and what gets you shown the door

For our newest batch of 2030, this happened within their first month on campus, which means they are already learning how to think like founders!

Thank you, Ajay for spending your time with us and giving our students a headstart most people wait years for! 💙 taken in Scaler School of Technology by @ecell_sst
