15 years ago, @jerseyheat introduced me to Squarepusher and Aphex Twin. We actually saw Squarepusher live in NYC together maybe 10 years ago. Ever since then, I've been fascinated by electronic music and breakbeats. Paul and I used to go see Jojo Mayer play every Monday at Nublu when we both lived in NYC. This idea of electronic music performed live has fueled our musical imaginations for over a decade now.

For half a decade, I've had the idea of making our own #breakbeat to be resampled not only by myself, but by other producers, and two summers ago, we made that a reality when my love of breakbeats, Paul's drumming, and @echo__shack expertise in recording came together in the 'Amen' (named for the #Amenbreak ) breakbeat sample pack released through @madeinpolyend

Thanks to all of you who bought it, we're back with a second installment. Whereas the last one focused on classic breaks (life could, think, cold sweat, and of course, amen), this one added some more classic recreations (the worm) as well as a lot of percussive elements -- congas, tambourines, cowbells, shakers, hi hats, etc.

This was a really fun project, and I'm thrilled to see it finished. Go check it out on the Polyend website, twist these breaks and make them your own. Be creative and make music.

In my latest video I walk through the process of building an Abbey Road style reverb chamber.

For this experiment, I’m using a Soundcraft Ghost console, an Otari MXR-5050 tape machine, a U87 microphone, and a powered speaker in a strange closet room. Full vid on YT by @echo__shack

Had to document this cross stick sound. One mic, no plugins, to tape. Get in touch for drum tracks :) by @echo__shack

Taken from a session last week. Was going for a drums on vinyl in 1976 vibe. I think it’s important to record yourself practicing. This is around 97 bpm and playing 16th notes with the right hand for a whole song is hard! by @echo__shack
