Not tryna get preachy - it's just an observation.

I've been sober for over 5 years.
Steve Harvey said "it's hard to see the picture when you're in the frame," and I felt that. It's hard to see how many of your daily decisions - the small ones especially - are affected by your addiction when you're on drugs. But once you get away from it, and you've been sober awhile, you'll start to notice how almost everything in your life is infinitely better than when you were high all the time.

If you know you're unhappy or you're not in a good place, there may be a multitude of circumstances that put you there. But if you KNOW that's where you're at, it's up to YOU to make the effort required to improve things. If you're not willing to make that effort, then you don't get to complain when nothing improves.

Not everyone who pushes you away WANTS you to leave.... Many of us don't know how to process our feelings, and as a result, we also don't know how to clearly and directly verbalize them. So people say things they don't mean and sometimes lose sight of how they feel about others when facing emotional discomfort.
But don't give up on them. Your love and patience will bring them back to you sooner than anger will.

It WAS an adventure, wasn't it...?
But most adventures have to come to an end. So when that end comes, don't be SAD that it ended, be HAPPY that it happened. That adventure changed you - hopefully for the better! You learned from it, you grew through it and now it's time to start a NEW adventure.
Remember the good and learn from the bad. Learn from your mistakes.
And don't forget: it's ok to look back at the past, just don't stare too long.

My sister is hilarious! And my baby is wonderful!! Had a great and quiet dinner with the fam. Turkey and mashed tatoes and punkin pie, etc. Traditional stuff. Grateful for all of it. Hope e'erybudee else having a good one as well! taken in Turkeyville by @echoevolve

Remember a few months ago when I was going to school to be a 911 dispatcher...?

Well I quit my old job of 6 years and this week I start my new job at TCCAD as a DISPATCHER!!!!!

Decide what you want.
Once you know what you want, get after it.
If what you're doing isn't working?
Then keep changing your approach until you get it. Figure out what works and keep doing that. Figure out what doesn't work and make adjustments.
