Loss is a strange thing.

Time keeps moving. Life keeps happening. But some people leave a space behind that never quite gets filled. You learn to live around it. You learn to carry it. And sometimes, in the quietest moments, you relive it.

Printing up some equipment for a project coming up. Now time to sand, prime, paint and detail. I enjoy this stuff

After the Noise is coming together.

Blake is working his way through the timeline, piecing together everything we captured and slowly turning a bunch of shots into the film we set out to make.

Still plenty of work ahead, but it’s pretty damn cool watching it take shape.

Post-production rolls on. Stay tuned.

Sometimes you have to turn the camera around.

A little BTS from sitting down with Blake to talk about After the Noise. Where the idea came from and what it took to finally get it made, and the journey from a script living in his head to seeing it come to life on screen.

Well built tools. No gimmicks.

A comp’ed 43X, a @dull.boy.blades Jack, and the @guildtimepieces Mekong.

Built right, carried often, and ready to get the job done.

Layout done in @mg_edc_actual style.

A grey sky, rain tapping a quiet rhythm, and just enough haze to blur the line between routine and reconnaissance.
Everything laid out in front of me feels intentional. Simple tools with stories of their own, waiting for the next move.

“Eyes of the Storm”

RAM ’86 at Bergstrom AFB, Reconnaissance Air Meet. For most, it was just a contest. For us, it was a proving ground.

I flew the RF-4C Phantom II, low and fast through Texas heat, chasing targets that blinked across radar like ghosts. Every second counted, snap the photo, stay off the scope, get out clean.

We beat the radar, nailed the frame, and when our shot went up on the board, crisp, perfect, dead-center. We knew we’d earned it.

Jet fuel, sweat, and a grainy photo…….our trophy from the sky.

Make a story to something old. taken in Bergstrom Air Force Base by @echt_arms

These were a few of Dad’s everyday carry items, pieces of a life well lived.

The Zippo is from the late ’60s, early 70s and he toted until he quit smoking the first time. The OG Leatherman PST he carried everywhere. He broke the jaws on his first one in the ’90s, and they sent him this replacement — he never went a day without it. The Camillus folder he probably convinced the supply guy for because he had about 5. The Timex he always seemed to replace with the same model. The ring he found in the snow in Paris during the Paris Peace Accords in 1970.

Each of these holds a story, a memory, a piece of him. I’ll always remember the man behind them… and I’ll miss him every day. by @echt_arms

The fog of war is heavy, but it’s part of the world turning. It sucks, but without it, nothing moves. War has to happen for better or worse, it makes the world go round
