35 years of friendship and somehow we randomly run into each other at a conference in Scottsdale.

Shane Power and I grew up playing basketball together and probably haven’t seen each other in person since the late ’90s, even though we’ve tried to connect a few times over the years.

Yesterday we finally did, completely by chance, and ended up spending hours together catching up.

What’s crazy is how many parallels our lives have had. We both ended up in the medical industry, both have two daughters around the same age, both married amazing women, and somehow found ourselves talking business, investments, family, and trading plenty of “war stories.”

Shane has built an incredible career and has always been someone I’ve admired, not just for his success, but for the kind of person he is and the way he gives back, including his work with Make-A-Wish.

There’s something really cool about reconnecting with someone who knew you long before careers, titles, kids, and all the rest of life happened.

Father’s Day weekend: ☀️🚘💛

A bright yellow Mustang, the Central Coast, rolling vineyards, Danish pastries, and my favorite people (plus Pepe).

From Marina del Rey to Solvang and Los Olivos, every mile with the top down felt like a reminder to slow down and enjoy the ride.

Missing Ellie while in Alaska with her classmates, but grateful for an unforgettable weekend of sunshine, scenery, and family.
