It's been a while since I've posted.
My husband passed away in October, and my world was turned upside down. After 37 years together, everyday life still feels strange and surreal. I'm slowly finding a new rhythm, taking it day by day.

Tapping back into my creativity and being part of this wonderful community is helping a lot. Making these kits was a gentle step back into the #miniatureworld

35 years ago today, I married this charming, intelligent, strong-willed, funny, slightly stubborn man with an amazingly big heart and a positive attitude towards life.

At first, I didn't think getting involved was such a great idea. We had both just ended previous relationships, so I told him: “let's first get our individual lives back on track, and then maybe, in time, we'll see”.

Guess he didn’t hear me. He just kept popping up on my doorstep with his big, bright, happy smile, accompanied by a lame excuse, a sweet gift, or a surprise invite for an outing.

So yes, eventually I gave in—and haven't regretted it for a single day. 🤗⚘️

Strong-willed as we both were, almost every daily topic could turn into a discussion. He would say left; I'd say right. I would say black; he would say white. But as soon as something truly mattered, no words were needed. We became this united front, facing challenges on our path, head-on, together.

It's been one hell of a ride, with so many big and small highlights, but also a few difficult and heartbreaking times. Knowing you can unconditionally rely on your partner lightens the burden.

HJ (Henk Jan) passed away last October. I miss him every single day, but I also smile—or laugh—at least twice a day when I think about what he would say, how he would react to something happening now, or simply when reminiscing. Alongside love, it's the memories that keep us strong, help us cope, and carry on. ⚘️

This is the first anniversary without our "Fruits de Mer". That's okay—it wouldn't be the same. I did buy a bottle of our favorite Italian wine, Greco di Tufo.

So, at wine o'clock, I'll raise a glass and say, "Cheers. Thank you for the 37 incredible years together. LY k+k+k." 🥂😘⚘️⚘️ by @ecminithings
