A New Partnership with @waiwanaka
Last week we took a trip to launch our new conservation partnership. One of our trips every week will help monitor the water quality of Lake Wānaka using WAI’s Secchi disks.
We are also donating $1 from every guest booking to support WAI’s work protecting local freshwater ecosystems.
That means when you book a trip with us you’re not only discovering some of the rohe’s most spectacular places with passionate local guides, you’re also helping invest in the future health of Lake Wānaka. Something exciting has been brewing... 🌿⁠

We're thrilled to announce a new partnership with the wonderful team at @ecoadventureswanaka who share our commitment to protecting the health of Lake Wānaka and the ecosystems that depend on it.⁠

As part of this partnership, one Eco Adventures trip each week will help monitor the water quality of Lake Wānaka using WAI's Secchi disks, contributing valuable long-term data that helps us track the health of the lake.⁠

Eco Adventures will also donate $1 from every guest booking to support WAI's work protecting local freshwater ecosystems. So when you book a trip, you're not only experiencing some of the rohe's (region's) most spectacular places with passionate local guides, you're also helping invest in the future health of Lake Wānaka.⁠

Last week, some of the WAI team were lucky enough to join an Eco Adventures trip to Mou Waho Island and see their conservation efforts in action. Every trip includes the opportunity for guests to plant a native tree on the island, directly contributing to the restoration of this special predator-free sanctuary.⁠

Today is #worldoceanday Whilst we operate inland, around the Southern Lakes & Alps we thought this was a great time to highlight #Project30x30. A global conservation target aiming to protect 30% of Earth’s land and oceans by 2030 to halt biodiversity loss and mitigate climate change. Biological diversity between species and ecosystems has a profound effect on everyone's wellbeing. An isolated and unique version of this can be seen when visiting the predator-free nature reserve of Mou Waho.
