Only one is built for a heatwave. Trees are some of the best cooling tools cities have. In some conditions, they can cool urban air by up to 8°C and land surfaces by up to 12°C. They also filter air pollution, make streets more walkable, and create homes for wildlife 🌳 Does your city need more trees? 📚 Sources: “Air temperature regulation by urban trees and green infrastructure,” Forestry Commission, 2013. “The role of urban trees in reducing land surface temperatures in European cities,” Nature Communications, 2021. by @ecosia
Sometimes, all nature needs is to be left alone. In Senegal’s Sahel region, we work with @hommesetterre to bring life back to near-desertified land 🌱 Planting trees isn't enough — they need a chance to survive and grow. So our partners came up with a solution to keep the trees safe from... hungry goats 🐐 Download Ecosia to help us keep these trees protected 💚 Link in bio. by @ecosia

Could this tree survive on Mars? 🌕 On Mexico’s highest volcano, the Warrior Tree clings to the slopes at over 4,000 metres, forming a unique ‘sky island’ ecosystem. But decades of logging have destroyed up to 80% of the forest. So, together with @planetwild.official and the @arbordayfoundation, we’re helping it grow back 🌱 Watch the full video on Youtube through the link in bio. by @ecosia
Me watching my searches help bring nature back 🥹🌱 These before-and-afters are proof that forests can come back when we give them the chance 💚 Behind every transformation are years of reforestation work with local communities and partners who refuse to give up on this planet. Your searches help make more of this possible around the world. Download Ecosia and help us bring more forests back 🌳 #reforestation #hopecore #ecosia by @ecosia
🥔 🐘 4,000 TONS OF POTATOES: That’s the weight of around 800 elephants! When a farm near Leipzig, Germany, was left with 4,000 tonnes of perfectly good potatoes after a bumper harvest and a market surplus last year, there was a huge risk they would go to waste. So a farm, a search engine and a local paper came to the rescue! 🥔 Osterland Agrar GmbH supplied the potatoes. Ecosia helped pay for their transport to Berlin. Berliner Morgenpost helped spread the word. The result? A massive free potato giveaway, bringing communities together and giving perfectly good food a second chance instead of letting it go to waste. 🌱 800 elephants’ worth of potatoes. One big effort to fight food waste. 🐘 ❤️ #wbw #ecosiapartner #foodwaste #goodnews by @ecosia
It wasn't too late for this forest after all 🥹 Thanks to the hard work of our local partners @institutoipe, this patch of the Atlantic Forest in Brazil is healing. It took 26,000 trees of different species and 3 years to bring this land back to life 🫡 Now, animals can move through the forest again and biodiversity is making a comeback. Send this to someone who needs a little hope today ✨ #hopecore #trees #ecosia by @ecosia

This forest paid for a playground and a football field. In Verdelhos, Portugal, communal land is collectively managed by locals, and the income it generates goes back into the village. Together with @geotambiente, we’re supporting the reforestation of these lands so the forest keeps working for the community. Search with @Ecosia to support projects like this 💚 by @ecosia
Protecting a secret forest in Manu, Peru, with @wildernessinternational 🌳 Because the true value of land isn’t in oil and gas. It’s in the life it holds 🦜 by @ecosia
