Maybe we need a little less ‘’new’’ and a lot more ‘’use what you already have’’🌿

I’m all for finding products that genuinely work for me, but I don’t want every trend to convince me I need something new.

Disclaimer-Some products featured were gifted to me. After trying and genuinely liking some of them, I chose to become a brand ambassador.

Quite a few new faces around here, so I thought I’d reintroduce myself…

I’m Rada, a mum of two, originally from Croatia and now living in the UK.

I’m an accidental environmentalist. I never set out to talk about climate, politics or corporate power. I’m just a mum who looked at the world my kids are inheriting and couldn’t stay quiet…

The world is literally on fire & we need to stop treating the climate crisis like something we can’t talk about. We need conversations, awareness and action because when enough people care and start pushing for change, we can reach a tipping point where real societal shifts become possible.

I have a bigger platform than I ever expected, and I feel like I have to use my voice .. I just wish more people with even bigger platforms felt the same responsibility instead of telling us to buy stuff we don’t need..

I’d much rather be surfing, thrifting, growing food, crocheting and making things from scratch… but pretending everything is fine isn’t really my style.

I believe we need both personal action and systemic change. Yes, we should grow food ( if we have space), thrift, repair, consume less, support our communities and make better choices where we can. But let’s not kid ourselves into thinking we can recycle our way out of a crisis driven by powerful corporations, fossil fuel interests and politicians who continue to put profits before people.

Real change needs all of us. We need to speak up, organise and demand better from those with the most power. But we also shouldn’t underestimate the impact of our everyday choices…the way we shop, eat, travel and vote helps shape the society we live in.

If that resonates with you, you’re in the right place.

I’d love to get to know you too. Introduce yourself below 🤗💚 taken in West Sussex by @ecowithrada

Earth Day is coming up, but honestly… this is your reminder that caring for the planet isn’t a one-day thing.

It’s the small, everyday choices that really add up. The way we live, shop, and consume sends a message to big corporations about the kind of world we want. We vote with our money!

There are so many simple actions that can turn into lasting habits. You don’t have to do everything… just do what you can.

Turn off the tap while brushing your teeth.
Bring your tote instead of taking another plastic bag.
Finish your leftovers instead of throwing them away.
Choose pieces you’ll wear for years, not just a season….

You don’t have to be perfect — just be consistent.

And if you feel like doing a little more? Talk about it. Share it. Encourage someone else. That ripple effect matters more than you think.

Every day can be Earth Day if we let it 💚

Europe’s environmental protections are under threat, and the consequences could reach far beyond its borders.

More than 80% of EU habitats are in poor condition, and now vital nature laws face pressure to be weakened in the name of “simplification.”

These laws protect wildlife, clean water, fresh air, and the ecosystems we all depend on. We cannot afford to sacrifice them for short-term profits.

Join the Hands Off Nature campaign. Sign the petition and help reach 1 million signatures.

Our health and nature are not up for sale.

We already have 900,000 signatures but we need 1 MILLION by 20 October to protect Europe’s nature.

The EU wants to install several data centres all over Europe at the cost of European nature.

Just this week, construction of a Google data centre in Finland was halted amid environmental concerns. Data centres will be on our terms or not at all!

Andy Burnham is right. We need to protect our children now and in the future – and that starts by rejecting the enormous Rosebank oil field. 🛑✋

We’ve just had the HOTTEST summer ever in the UK and a ‘monster El Niño’ lies ahead. Our children are relying on you staying true to your word.

Please @andy.burnham - lead on climate - and choose a LIVEABLE future for our children. 🙌

Simple crochet pumpkin tutorial🎃

You asked for it, so here it is! This is one of the easiest crochet pumpkins I’ve made, and it took me less than an hour. 🧶

And because the majority of you said in my last poll that you prefer subtitles over voiceovers, I’ve kept this one nice and calming to watch . 🤍

What you’ll need:
🧶 4.5 mm crochet hook
🧶 Yarn
🪡 Tapestry needle
♻️ Stuffing or shredded textile scraps

Part 1: Crochet the pumpkin

1️⃣ Make a slip knot and chain 18, making sure your chains aren’t too tight.
2️⃣ Starting in the third chain from the hook, work a half double crochet (HDC) into each chain to the end of the row. You should have 16 HDCs in total. Don’t forget the last chain!
3️⃣ Turn your work and chain 2.
4️⃣ Starting in the back loop only (BLO) of the first HDC, work HDCs across to the end of the row.
5️⃣ Continue working HDC in the back loop only until you have 18 rows.
6️⃣ Tie off and cut the yarn, leaving a long enough tail for sewing.

Sew the pumpkin together

7️⃣ Thread the yarn tail onto a tapestry needle and sew the two ends together, working through the back loops of the HDCs.
8️⃣ Turn your work inside out.
9️⃣ Using the yarn tail, sew around the opening in a zigzag pattern. Pull the yarn to gather the opening and secure it with a knot.
🔟 Stuff your pumpkin with shredded textile scraps or fibre fill.
1️⃣1️⃣ Sew the bottom closed using the same zigzag pattern.
1️⃣2️⃣ To create the pumpkin segments, use your needle and yarn to stitch over and under each row, pulling gently to create little indentations.
1️⃣3️⃣ Tie off and cut the yarn.

🎃 Follow for Part 2 to see how I make the pumpkin stem!

Save this tutorial for later and let me know how you get on. If you make one, tag me in your pumpkins —I’d love to share them in my stories! 🧡

Let’s get this straight: ‘It’s a good deal’ doesn’t mean you need it!!

I’ve seen so much content promoting Amazon products lately and I just couldn’t resist saying something about it.

And look, if you genuinely need something and Amazon happens to be the cheapest or most convenient option, fine. I’m not here to tell anyone they can never shop there.

But a lot of what I’m seeing is just… tat. Stuff we didn’t need, probably won’t use much and definitely don’t need more of — all because it’s discounted.

A bargain isn’t a bargain if you wouldn’t have bought it in the first place.

So before you click ‘add to basket’ ask yourself: Do I actually need this or have I just been convinced I’m getting a good deal?

Let’s buy with intention, support small businesses where we can, choose second-hand and keep things in circulation for longer.

Although AI has a significant impact on our planet, the truth is that the meat industry and the fossil fuel industry are the leading drivers of climate breakdown.

To keep up with the demand of industrial farming, vast landscapes are cleared for grazing and feed crops, making it the primary cause of deforestation and catastrophic biodiversity loss as critical habitats vanish. #meat #fossilfuels #climatechange by @ecowithrada
