Meet Serhii Korovayny @serhiikorovayny, a photojournalist whose work has appeared in The Wall Street Journal, National Geographic and Der Spiegel.

A Fulbright scholar, Serhii published his debut photobook Love Letter to Donbas in 2026 with the human rights organisation FotoEvidence. The book is a personal tribute to his largely destroyed homeland, documenting the places and people that shaped him.

Next up is Diana Delyurman @delyurman, an independent correspondent and photographer whose work focuses on people, places and stories from across Ukraine.

Through photography and reporting, Diana documents everyday experiences and brings personal perspectives to audiences around the world.

And another great speaker Victoriia Yermolaieva, Editor-in-Chief at @hromadske_radio, Ukraine’s first independent, non-state news platform certified by the Journalism Trust Initiative.

Several months ago, ECPMF joined an MFRR international press freedom mission to France to assess the state of media freedom ahead of the 2027 presidential election.

Our new mission report highlights growing pressure on journalists, media pluralism and public service media, alongside concerns over source protection, SLAPPs and journalist safety.

Swipe through for the key findings and recommendations. Full report via the link in our bio.

“We tried to find out how much would it cost to clean up all this mess? How much would it cost to filter all the polluted water, to wash all the polluted soil?”

“The Forever Lobbying Project”: A team of 46 journalists and 18 experts uncovered how industry sought to weaken and delay EU legislation intended to restrict PFAS. The project calculated that cleaning up PFAS contamination would cost Europe more than €2 trillion over the next two decades, and that would only compensate for 2% of the pollution.

The investigation is one of the winners of this year’s IJ4EU Impact Awards.

They never set out to become war reporters.

‘The Only Material’ is an exhibition about Ukrainian journalists whose stories were meant to be about the climate, science, justice - until war reshaped everything.

Join us in Leipzig to witness their courage, resilience, and the dreams that refuse to disappear.

Grateful to be hosted by German Book and Writing Museum (Deutsche Buch- und Schriftmuseum @buchundschriftmuseum)!

For years, the museum has maintained a vital collaboration with Ukrainian author and publisher Khrystyna Kozlovska and the „Leipzig Helps Ukraine“ network. As part of this, numerous readings have already taken place featuring voices like Max Kidruk, Olga Volynska, and Khrystyna herself. Visitors have also had the opportunity to experience profound artistic and documentary works, including the exhibition „before/after“ organised by Khrystyna, and Antitext, conceived by the Kharkiv Museum of Literature.

Such an important space for culture, solidarity, and storytelling. Thank you for having us!

⭐ Opening: 22 October at 18:00 (doors open 17:30)

A team of just six freelancers exposed how an Italian factory - which had been contaminating water with PFAS for years - was simply rebuilt in India after it was shut down in Italy. “Factories on the run” is one of the winning teams of this year´s IJ4EU Impact Award - congrats again!

In this video, journalists @anna.violato and @livagianluca tell us about their investigation, the impact it has had, and the dangers these so-called “forever chemicals” (PFAS) pose to each and every one of us.

Our exhibition is coming home to Leipzig!

After a successful first stop at the Museum for Communication @mfk_berlin in Berlin in June 2025, our exhibition ‘The Only Material’ is moving to ECPMF’s birthplace! This time, we are thrilled to be hosted by yet another great location partner: the German Book and Writing Museum (Deutsche Buch- und Schriftmuseum @buchundschriftmuseum).

‘The Only Material’ tells the story of journalists whose careers were transformed by a turning point in their country’s history. It’s about the stories they originally set out to tell - on science, climate, and justice - and how purpose endures through profound change.

To mark this year’s opening, we have something very special in store: Headliner @jiveshow will bring live journalism to the stage with a special performance featuring four Ukrainian journalists. Experience firsthand how powerful live storytelling can be, and afterwards, dive deep into the personal testimonies of the exhibition.

We are excited to announce the winners of our IJ4EU Impact Award 2026!

Unveiled at the UNCOVERED Conference, they prove that no border is too far and no power too big for determined journalists.
Learn more about this year´s winning projects (in alphabetical order) and what the jury members had to say about them:

Reporters across 44 countries came together to expose how doctors banned from practising in a country are now practising elsewhere. Oleg Khomenok commended “Bad Practice” for “exposing systemic failures in a way that has already forced health authorities to react”.

An Italian factory poisoned water with PFAS for years. Shut down there, it resurfaced in India. 6 freelancers exposed it. Neus Vidal: “Factories on the Run” “changed the conversation” in India. “What stood out was how much a small team achieved across borders.”

“The Forever Lobbying Project”: Media partners across 16 countries tracked how industry sought to weaken and delay EU laws restricting PFAS. Maryna Rakhlei praised it for giving "evidence to judge whose interests are shaping decisions that affect all of us.”

And the jury awarded "Killing for the Photo” a special mention. Revisiting award-winning photos of a paramilitary executing a civilian, the investigation was praised by Can Ertuna for "underscoring the importance of universal journalistic principles."

Congratulations to all the winning teams! We are already looking forward to next year´s IJ4EU Impact Award. The application period starts in late February 2027. taken in Goethe-Institut Budapest by @ecpmf

Voices is 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 𝐚 𝐟𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥. It's a way to reach local realities and spread the values of journalism and media freedom, with a European breath.

That's why, for the upcoming Thessaloniki edition, we partnered with the Journalists' Union of Macedonia and Thrace (ESIEMTH). Local communities hold real power in carrying our values forward, and that's exactly who we want beside us. Last week we brought that partnership to life at the Thessaloniki International Fair, where we spoke with the community about the upcoming edition of Voices this November.
