Saltshaker Buddies start tomorrow for our purple group!

Saltshaker Buddies is a special time of mentoring between middle school and elementary students. Together, they read God’s Word, discuss questions, and pray with each other. The relationships grow through the bi-weekly meetings and special events like a party at Christmas and recess time together.

For middle schoolers, this time takes the focus off themselves and gives them an opportunity to develop leadership skills, patience, and empathy.

For elementary students, it gives them an older student to look up to and spend time with who is talking with them about the love of God.

This year, the virtues that are a part of our daily routines will be included in Saltshaker Buddy time with Bible stories that focus on specific virtues each time students meet together.

Why do we call it Saltshaker Buddies? The title reminds the students that our conversations should be full of grace and seasoned with salt.
-Colossians 4:6 “Let your speech always be gracious, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how you ought to answer each person.” by @ecs_eugene

“Developing Kingdom Leaders” isn’t just a slogan on our new sign—it is the heartbeat of everything we do at Eugene Christian School.

Every day, our students are growing academically, socially, and spiritually to step out and make a tangible difference in the world. We are so incredibly blessed by this community and thrilled to have a fresh visual anchor out front to welcome families every morning.

Stop by, check it out, and let us know what you think! by @ecs_eugene

Meet Ian Ogden, our ECHS Athletic Director, College and Career Readiness, and Bible 11 Teacher.

Over the course of his 15 year teaching career, Ian worked at Churchill High School where he taught English and led the AVID program at a school and district level. Most recently, Ian spent the last three years teaching English, College and Career Readiness, and Freshman Success at Harrisburg High School, while also establishing a local Fellowship of Christian Athletes chapter at the school.

With over 20 years of coaching experience, Mr. Ogden has trained and mentored athletes from middle school to college including stints at Oak Hill High School, Harrisburg Middle School and High School, North Eugene High School and New Hope Christian College. Most recently Coach Ogden served as the varsity baseball coach and assistant basketball coach at HHS.

As Coach Ogden looks to the future of ECHS Athletics he is excited to use his teaching and coaching experience to help guide and develop our ECHS coaches, while also growing our athletic programs. Above all else, Ian is looking forward to walking alongside our athletes and coaches as they honor and represent God through their athletic endeavors. by @ecs_eugene
