I made this tile as part of the series about my dog Max who brought so much joy to my life. He was the kindest most joyful soul. This shows him swimming in the sea with my mum. Thanks to tutor Rob @clayspacestudios for help with the colours and detail.

Last week I finally finished this piece which is a replica of a very late 90s motherboard originally designed by MSI. It was an interesting journey at first trying to get precision then challenging my OCD which led to the old-fashioned curly traces. The colours didn't quite work out as I wanted but after many hours spent it needed to be finished. I learnt a lot along the way and hope you like it! #ceramics #tile #motherboard #90s #electronics @clayspacestudios by @ed.gray_ceramics

This piece started as my first attempt at coiling, grew upwards as I worked on the idea and form, which changed as the shape developed. I have been trying to replicate the shape of picture tubes which are getting quite rare now but for many decades represented computers and television for a lot of people.

Please let me know if you are interested in more objects like this one.

This was an attempt to make a nice even pot by myself while adding texture to the clay using sea shells and pieces of string. I started with a pinch base, added a coil then smaller pieces of clay to make the top more even. The glazes were an experiment but I love the exterior one I believe it's called flame gold.

Let me know what you think!

So I've been working on this piece since January when I attended @lou_frances wonderful experimental hand-building course. It started as my first ever attempt at coiling, grew upwards and then I had some inspiration to create a sculpture. The original idea wasn't fully formed in my mind and later I found an object to base it on. Then as I was working the clay the shape transformed.

If you think of an iconic computer that launched around 1998 and is still in production today you might guess what it's going to be.

A difficult journey but the results have come out wonderfully so far. Can't wait to see this one finished. Etched with a needle into leather clay based on photos from when he was a few months old and I came home from Ireland and met him for the first time and fell in love.

Here's a pinch-pot I made some time ago @thegardengateproject ceramics class. I was not happy with it at first but now I think it's quite charming. I fill it with used batteries before I take them to the library for recycling.

Lovely to be back working on this slab based version of my piece with @lou_frances in her wonderful garden studio in Ramsgate. Everyone is making different things but they're all brilliant in my eyes.
