One of the things I connected with most about #NeonGenesisEvangelion was that the real battle was never just against the Angels. It was the battle happening inside #Shinji.

That’s what exists in the core of Suffer in Silence as well.

The feeling of being trapped inside your own head. Wanting someone to understand you while simultaneously pushing everyone away. Trying to hold yourself together when you don’t even know what “together” is supposed to feel like anymore.

This second animation with @todd.pham gave those feelings another form, another world, another interpretation; and watching something that started in such a dark place become art is pretty fucking beautiful.

You are not alone.

@hectorsoulless recommended this song years ago. I’ve always loved the ending to it. You know i’m a sucker for those two hand tapping leads.

Signal chain >-
Ibanez RGRTB621. Light eq block before the amp split. Lately I’ve partial to the sound of blended amps, for this one I used 5150 with ENGL Fireball (Thank you Hector) With mid gain on each. Going into a @yorkaudio Zilla V30 with a 57 and 121 IR. Into a light compression block. The Adriatic delay and dynamic reverb for effects. I tired to not over complicate it. by @ed_terror

Testing out some bass tones for some backtracks for Frankenstein(we don’t have a bass player). Figured @perturbatormusic was a good one to pair it with.

-Audio nerd talk-
Used Helix floor with a crossover split to process the low end and high end individually. Ampeg svt-4 for low end and the darkglass B7K for the high end grit.
Definitely have to balance it to find the sweet spot. Some light eq and compression on each of the split. For the IRs I used an Ampeg Svt8 for the low and a Zilla 2x12 IR for the grit. Pretty standard mixing technique at this point, but wanted to try it on the floor unit. I might think the tone is trash in couple of days. by @ed_terror
