Well — the secrets out! It was tough to stay quiet for so long but after waiting many months for filming to wrap up, I’m honored to say that my artwork is featured in the new @netflix movie, “72 Hours”! I got to watch the movie this morning and seeing my painting on the big screen beside this amazing cast was really surreal and humbling. This was my first time working with Netflix and it was a big bucket list item of mine for a long time now. Thanks for making this young artist’s dream come true and shout out to @kevinhart4real and @marcellohdz for absolutely crushing this movie. I’m really excited to share my next limited edition print with you all! This piece is titled, “Wild”. I am obsessed with this artwork and I’m so happy with how the composition came together. I’ve been spending a lot more time in nature lately and I’m starting to believe that’s the whole point. It’s interesting how we call it “The Wild” but it’s the place that makes us feel most at peace. Surrounded by all the critters and creatures, coexisting with Mother Nature.

I’ve sent this artwork to my printers and have expedited the order so that I receive these prints back in the next couple days. Stay tuned! I will announce the exact date and time of the limited edition print drop one day in advance to give everyone notice! I appreciate you all so much. by @eddiegangland

Entry #1:
“The Wolf who sought to be The Shepherd”

I’ve been thinking a lot lately about nature and what we call “the wild” and how we all coexist with one another. I thought to myself the other day, the wolf never asked to be born a wolf. He just was. The sheep never asked to be sheep; they just were. The shepherd chose to become a shepherd and tend to the sheep and protect them from the wolves. But to survive, the wolf must eat the sheep. It has no other choice. It’s the natural “wild” way. Maybe the wolf secretly wishes to be the shepherd so it could have the right to choose its own destiny. Maybe it never wanted to eat the sheep, but it must to survive. So is the wolf bad? For eating to survive? Or is the shepherd bad for trying to tend to the flock of sheep; thus starving out and killing the wolf? If the wolf didn’t choose to be a wolf but was born one and must kill to eat, but the shepherd had the right to choose their destiny and chose to be a shepherd to protect the sheep from the wolf; thus choosing to kill the wolf, is the shepherd the bad one?

Does the right to choose our fate cloud our ability to perceive what is right and what is wrong? What gets to live and what gets to starve? Why do we get that power? Are we the bad ones? by @eddiegangland
