There are meals you post once and move on from. Then there are meals that make you go back through 47 photos later and realize you’re apparently not ready to let them go.

So here we are.

I couldn’t help myself but give you the still shots because this dinner deserved more than a few seconds in a reel.

The Tomahawk Trio for Two at @eddiemerlots is currently $199 and includes a 32 oz. Australian Wagyu Tomahawk Ribeye, two North Atlantic lobster tails and a bottle of DAOU Pessimist.

I genuinely think this is one of those deals that is absolutely worth it. It feels indulgent without feeling like you’re just paying for the name, and the entire experience feels like an occasion-even if your only occasion is that it’s Tuesday and you felt like dressing up.

But the thing I’ll probably remember most is Mindo.

He was our server at the downtown Pittsburgh location, and somewhere between the beginning and end of dinner, our server turned into someone I genuinely felt like I’d known for years. Warm, funny, attentive, completely natural-just the kind of person who makes you want to come back and hope he’s working.

And I truly believe he’s that great with every table, which is a pretty special thing to be able to say about someone.

The steak was incredible. The lobster was exactly what it should be. The wine was a very good idea. And, naturally, we ordered enough additional food to make the phrase “for two” somewhat theoretical. 😂

So yes, the reel got its moment.

But this dinner gets the stills, too.
