I saw Anvil for the first time as a 16-year old kid in Rotterdam at the Arena (which later became Nighttown). Who would have thought that the second time would be 43 years later? 🎶🤘🏽

Good fun it was!

The first game of this season was super exciting! Good team play and an intense defense kept Rotterdam in the lead for 38 minutes, but it was not enough: 71-75 🏀💥

My impression of BOA on Saturday

The line-up of this year's Baroeg Open Air was a bit less of my taste, but I still had a great day. These are the bands I've seen:

Teardrinker - An intense, confronting outcry about things that really matter. Musically not 100% my cup of tea, but impressive for sure!

Tigerknife - For me, the best act after Fear Factory. Tight metalcore, lots of energy and happy faces.

Lijkschouwer - Their blackened sludge easily withstood the daylight. Good!

Graceless - Good ol' death metal

Gladde Paling - Recycling popular pop songs with a heavy beat underneath them. Pre-recorded, zero creativity, visually boring.

Crystal Lake - Relentless energy, good musicians, lots of breakdowns

The Laws performing Sarcofago - A nice death/black timetravel to some 40 years ago.

Psychosocial - Why put a tribute band on the bill instead of a (local) band that does originals? And I don't like Slipknot and this tribute even less

Fear Factory - Super tight and heavy. For me the day's winner

That stupid AI trend of 'me in the eighties' takes a heavy toll on the environment; it costs lots of electricity and cooling water, and generates waste.

So, better post a real photo if you can – like this one of me from 1986 😄🎶🎸

I dug through my Instagram archive and saw that I’ve seen Malad live nine times 😀🎶

Useless info, but it’s fun to see the band over the years...

Judging by the size of the crowd and the audience's reaction, The Reapers should have been yesterday's headliners. They pulverized the place! 🔥🔥🔥
