🏃‍♀️ Lace up, Miami! Registration is OPEN for the EdFed Race for Education at the Superintendent’s 5K! 🍎 Last year, over 6,300 runners, walkers, students, teachers and families showed up for our public schools — nearly 300 schools took part and together we raised more than $142,000 for participating schools. Let’s break that record again in 2027!

📅 Saturday, March 6, 2027
⏰ Race starts at 7:30 AM
📍 Maurice A. Ferré Park, 1095 Biscayne Blvd, Miami

There’s something for the whole family:
✅ Adult 5K
✅ Student 5K
✅ 1-Mile Kids’ Run (ages 7–12)
✅ Kids’ Dash (ages 2–9)

Best part? Proceeds from 5K registrations go back to participating schools. Run for your school, walk with your family, and show up for education. 💙

👉 Register today at mdcpsfoundation.org/superintendent-5k

💙 WEEK IN REVIEW: #EdFed joined @miamischools at Jungle Island for the #PrincipalTODAY2026 Kickoff Breakfast, celebrating a program that brings community leaders into schools to experience a day in the life of a principal.

🏆 At Coral Reef Park in Palmetto Bay, we proudly sponsored the Principal's Welcome Reception and celebrated Southwood Middle School's Daniel Barreras, recipient of the 2026 Greg Zawyer Principal of the Year Award! Congratulations!

🏫 Our team also made stops at Somerset Academy Charter High, North Miami Beach Senior High, and Miami Jackson Senior High, just to name a few, continuing to build connections with our school communities.

🙌 Another week of meaningful connections and supporting the educators who make a difference every day!
