Education Forward DC is hiring a senior fundraising leader to design our multi-year strategy, lead a team of three, and manage major-gift donor relationships in close partnership with our CEO.

Since 2016, we’ve raised over $140M for DC’s education ecosystem, and this role is central to sustaining the momentum that has made DC the fastest-improving urban school system in the country.

From leading the nation in post-pandemic Math and Reading growth to building on years of academic progress, D.C. students are proving that declining achievement is not inevitable.

As CEO of Accelerate, Kevin Huffman, highlights, that progress didn’t happen overnight. And it’s worth building on.

The numbers tell a story of real momentum for #DC students. 📊

New analysis from Josh Boots of @empowerk12 shows that post-pandemic math gains are outpacing pre-pandemic progress in nearly every grade, while fewer students are scoring at the lowest performance levels.

The takeaway is clear: sustained investment in students, educators, and proven supports is working. The work now is to protect that progress and keep investing in every #DC student.

🚨 NEW DC CAPE RESULTS ARE IN!

DC students keep gaining ground.

Today, OSSE released the full 2026 DC CAPE results, and there is a lot to celebrate. ELA proficiency rose 2.0 percentage points and math rose 2.1 points in just one year.

That builds on four consecutive years of academic progress across DC.

The results show real momentum for DC students, and growing evidence that sustained focus on strong instruction and academic support is paying off.
