Congratulations to Point Pleasant Beach senior Jacob Edgecomb on becoming the 16th athlete in our program to join the 1000 point club! The 6’3 guard scored his 1000th point on a three pointer in the second quarter against Toms River East. Jacob has worn a Predators uniform throughout most of his high school career and played an instrumental role in our quarterfinal victory last year on the HGAL. Jacob has a strong ability to score the ball while also taking pride in his ability to defend at a high clip as well. After an injury sidelined Point Pleasant Beach guard Jacob Edgecomb during the first live period, it wasn’t a matter of “if” but “when” he would return. Finally at 100%, Jacob was incredible in the last live period. Jacob held one of the HGAL’s leading scorers to his lowest point total in ten games while helping our 17U squad secure a crucial Sweet 16 victory against a very talented CT Takeover team. Aside from his stellar defense, Jacob was able to knock down some key mid-range buckets, which is something we’ve become accustomed to watching for the last few years. In Pittsburgh, Jacob Edgecomb was coming back to his first game action after a month long injury absence. The Point Pleasant Beach Junior showed glimpses of what has made him so special in previous seasons. Getting to the rim, knocking down jumpers, and making hustle plays are just parts of the makeup of Edge’s game. Jacob made a key play in our win over a strong Dubois Dream team before following it up the weekend after with an ELAM game winner against a strong HGAL squad. Point Pleasant Beach riding junior Jacob Edgecomb has been a key piece of this program for the last few years. After a strong sophomore campaign, Jacob has become a name that you need to know in the Shore Conference. Edge has a knack for making tough shots look easy, which he showed consistently during the live period. At 6’2, Jacob can guard multiple positions while impacting the game in various ways on both ends of the court.
