Meanwhile, as I wait for Gabriel Oak, Chelsea Physic and Constance Spry to get their glad rags on, there are some other pretty things happening now.

The Generous Gardener. She’s been under attack from greenfly for the last 10 days. I’ve been squishing for 10 days, and yet there are more every day. Despite this, l’m hoping for a good tho probably brief display this year.
I’ve concluded that the reason this rose is sometimes considered “not so generous” is because she is the earliest rose to come under attack (certain in my garden) and the bugs go unnoticed until many buds have been sucked dry!
A beautiful, well scented flower that falls apart the moment you cut one to take inside😵‍💫
