We stopped into Fuji with some friends on Monday for their 1/2 off all street food special and just happened to be there during happy hour too! We had so much fun sipping cocktails, sharing street food and catching up with our friends.

We’re regulars here and we get the brussell sprouts every time, they are the best! This visit we tried the fried artichoke hearts for the first time and it may get added to our regular rotation 😋. Check out their website for all their specials, they have some great ones.

Fall is my absolute favorite. I grew up in the midwest, and while I miss the more defined seasons, the frost on cold fall mornings, and abundance of colorful and crunchy leaves, I’d still choose Sacramento any day.

You’ll find me with the windows wide open in the early mornings and late evening in an oversized sweater searching for all the fall treats.

I was beyond excited when I saw @anchorandtreecoffeeroastingco had dropped their fall menu and I had to get their pumpkin latte, the “Basic Witch Latte”. The latte art was a welcome surprise 🍂🥰

You may say that visiting sandwich shops is a hobby of mine😆 it certainly is one of my favorite things to do! I was in Fair Oaks for meetings and saw that Good Eats Deli was just around the corner. It’s a small shop with a few tables available to dine in, and the team working there was very nice and welcoming. I ended up with the Salami Supreme on Dutch Crunch as well as the Lamb Gyro Wrap. Each sandwich comes with a side and small cookie, and at the price-point it’s a great deal!

I’ve been following @burgerjunkies for so long and couldn’t pass up the opportunity to try a burger. The pop-up had good vibes, great conversations, and it was a memorable way to spend #nationalcheeseburgerday

My first experience with Q1227 was for a work project, and getting to spend time with Chef Q and Mrs. Q was such an amazing experience. It’s very cool to talk with people who are so passionate about food, community, and working hard on their dreams.

I wanted to share some of the photos, because the food looked, smelled, and tasted amazing! We’re already planning our next visit #datenight

As I walked through Midtown, phone in one hand to capture the time-lapse video and the other arm extended to keep the @goodsidecoffee cup in frame, I truly thought I was capturing perfection.

Cold beer, great food, good for groups, AND dog friendly. It’s been a regular stop for us for a reason and each visit is a reminder of how fun Der Biergarten is. On our latest visit they had leberkäse and potato pancakes on the menu too! Of course we still got some currywurst and their pretzel with obatzda cheese. by @ediblehours

I love ceramics and I have so much admiration for people who are creating functional art. I’ve had a mug collection for years, but as it’s grown I’ve been more selective and new pieces tend to be works of art like these instead of the cute mass produced commercial stuff.

I love supporting artists like @alexbroussardpottery, and seeing the different stages of the art, techniques, the new designs, and how pieces change over the years.

For people local to East Tennessee, you’ll find Alex at different markets and art events. For people farther away, like me, keep an eye on social media for online sales. by @ediblehours

Day 1-2: Travel

B and I celebrated our 10 year wedding anniversary by taking a trip to Japan! Everyone we know who’s been told us we needed to visit and as big foodies and lovers of adventure we couldn’t think of a better way to get out of our comfort zone and visit somewhere we’ve never been!

After a crash course of @duolingo lessons, tons of research online, on reels and tiktok, and talking to all of our friends who had already been, we still felt nowhere near ready. But, at least we had a ton of bookmarked places we wanted to visit.

Day 1-2 was all travel since we basically lost a day.

We started at @flysmf and loved seeing so many of our local Sacramento businesses represented in Terminal B. You know I had pick up some @templecoffee!

@templecoffee is literally front and center after you get through security now.

It was an early wake-up call at 4am and an even longer day so the coffee was much needed!

Shout out to the @alaskaair / @hawaiianairlines team. Our original flight got delayed but they were able to switch our flight and with it our layover changed from Seattle to Honolulu! Fun fact: B proposed to me on our first trip to Hawaii (Big Island). It felt like fate that our 10 year anniversary trip would have a stop off in Hawaii!

Also, @hawaiianairlines snacks and drinks are elite! POG is always the right choice 💕

We took advantage of the layover and enjoyed a poke bowl and locomoco along with @konabrewinghawaii at The Local at Daniel K. Inouye International Airport.

The staff here were so friendly and offered to take our picture after chatting with us and learning we were celebrating our anniversary 💕

So happy Hawaii could be part of our memorable trip, even if it was just a couple hour layover.

This is your sign to bring gifts for the flight crew! I brought @chuaochocolatier mini bars (they one of my favorites) and gave them to the team before the flight.

This note from the @hawaiianairlines team made me so happy!

We made it to Japan feeling exhausted and made our way through the airport and to our bus. A super nice person even helped us learn how to work the drink vending machines because we were by @ediblehours

Happy 10-year anniversary to my best friend @ediblehours! 10 years ago we set out to have the best wedding ever and the best life ever, together. We’ve supported each other through career changes, lived through a pandemic, added to our family, bought cars, bought houses (one for us and helped for one other 😀) traveled the world and experienced other cultures, customs and food together and there’s nobody I’d rather spend my life doing that stuff with than you and Oslo. Though things and times have changed, my promise to you for a good life will always be true. I love you Rachel and here’s to the next 10! by @ediblehours

We made it just in time to grab a spot in line for Nandattei’s delicious Tomato Curry Ramen. The broth was so flavorful and it was our first time enjoying a tomato curry broth. The noodles were perfectly cooked with a nice chewy bounce and the broth was just thick enough to hang onto the noodles and cover them so every bite was flavorful. This spot is cash only, and we would definitely recommend it for a casual meal. Plus the team working were so kind!
