Fix Your Attention on the Soul No. 3
I made this in 2015 and wasn’t sure if it was finished. I have looked at it off and on, played with and revised it many times. Today, I decided I like it. It’s done. I have a prayer hanging in my studio that reads:
“Give the act to me
Purged of hope and ego
Fix your attention on the soul
Act and do for me”
Those words are carved in this piece. There is light and rainbows....water and sky and earth below the darkness, peaking through. I’m not sure where I saw it first but this prayer brings me back to the purest reason for creating anything. The pull of one’s heart toward what it was created to contribute. The world is coming home right now. It is calling us to slow down. Fix your attention on your soul and ask what it is here to be.
Large 40 inch Round with hand treated copper edges. .
