7 months without my sweet Aunt Courtney. Not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. She was the kindest person I’ve ever known. My junior year, she visited me at a showchoir competition, but I was so worried about doing well that I didn’t fully appreciate her being there, and was honestly not very welcoming or thankful in the moment. But she never made me feel bad about it. She just hugged me, played with my hair, and sat with me in my anxiety. That was the kind of person she was. I keep having this reoccurring dream of her on the paddle board at Lake Burton, healthy and beautiful, paddling towards the dock. She’s smiling and waving, the sun is shining, and the water is sparkling. This dream feels like a Heavenly wink from her, as if she’s saying that she’s alright and away from the pain and cruelty that cancer brought her. Hug her extra tight for me, Jesus!! We miss her down here ❣️🪽 by @edieherring_
