I realised today it’s been a few years since I (re)introduced myself and edit58 on here, so with a fresh new year ahead, and with an influx of new followers recently (hello 👋🏻 ), it seems like the perfect time to do so. If you’re a long-term follower please do feel free to scroll past now (but thank you for continuing to stick around!).
Here goes;
1. My name is Lisa. I’m 47 and have 14 year old b/g twins. (It feels crazy to write that, as it feels like yesterday I was mid 30’s with young children 😮). I split my time between SW London and The Coln Valley in Gloucestershire, and feel very lucky to be able to do so. It’s such a privilege to experience both city and countryside living and I try to never take it for granted.
2. After a career in advertising, I launched edit58 back in 2015 as a way to balance motherhood and the urge I had to do something creative for myself. There weren’t many independent online homewares retailers back then, and I spotted a gap in the market. Seems hard to imagine now, it’s such a busy sector.
3. I have Austrian ancestry, which goes some way to explain my 6ft ‘mountain girl’ stature. Doesn’t explain why I hate skiing though🎿
4. I’ve been with my Lebanese husband for 26 years now. I’m so grateful he introduced me to Lebanon. It’s stunningly beautiful and its people have a zest for life like no other.
5. We have lived in both the Middle East and Asia (our children were born in Singapore), but we moved back to SW London in 2014 and have no plans to leave again (until our children have flown the nest…..).
6. My favourite pastime is scouring antique shops and going to vintage markets, whether that be home or abroad. My darling Nan (who passed away at the magnificent age of 103) was exactly the same; still wanting to mooch around an antiques fair in her latter years. My Dad also LOVES to go to our local auction house. It’s in me genes! 🧬

Seville cemented my love of a rhubarb and custard colour combo 💖

Temps reached 42 degrees most days. We sought shade.

The city is filled with the most incredible lanterns. They are everywhere. I managed to visit the company that makes the majority of them. I am now lantern obsessed.

On evenings when Spain played in the World Cup, the streets were deserted (and the bars rammed). Come on Spain, we are cheering you on tonight 🇪🇸 🇪🇸 taken in Sevilla,Spain by @edit.58

I had been patiently waiting for the right project / scheme to propose this matching pair of vintage floral runners for. And then the PERFECT project presented itself and the stars aligned (designer + client signed them off). These beauties are now off to live their best life in a dressing room across the pond. x by @edit.58

Up close and In situ. Two @edit.58 sourced rugs in the beautiful home of @the_vaults_at_stow founder @indi_rose. We were kindly tasked with sourcing for both the primary bedroom and dressing room spaces. For the Primary bedroom, a wonderfully large vintage Portuguese Needlepoint works beautifully with the florals in the scheme and continues the calm, soft, restful atmosphere. Showcasing another vintage Kilim (260cm x 130cm) from our @edit.58 sourced collection of floral rugs, now online. I ❣️ this one, probably because navy and red are a favourite colour combo in both my home and wardrobe. This palette is softened with the addition of gentle pinks and greens. I see this one working beautifully alongside your favourite fabrics, in a living room, study or hallway. 🌺💙 by @edit.58

Shining the spotlight on another of our vintage kilim rugs (‘edit1’) from our newly sourced collection, now online. At 190cm x 111cm, I see this repeat floral sitting perfectly in a nursery, child’s room or dressing room space. But the reality is it would work in a multitude of places. I think I’m drawn to sourcing this kind of design due to my love of florals, of course - but also because I adore vintage domino papers and the repeat motifs and patterns always remind me of those. 🤎🌷 x Rug now SOLD.
