RACE DAY: A ZINE [Conceptual Theory on Running as Performance Art]

One of my truest loves within the art and design world is print/publication design and I've had an idea for a zine about the details of race day cooking in my head for a while. I'm so excited to have finally, painstakingly, brought it to life!!

It includes photos, writing, graphics, notebook scans by me and audio recordings (!) of my team doing our thing.

Printed on a mixture of matte photo paper and vellum and saddle stitched by hand by yours truly. It was a labor of love that I'm so proud of.

Full flip through above and artist statement also on my website. 🌐 by @edithnobledesign

At The Intersection: Anthropic Shadow

I've been using photography to explore the broad idea of how sport affects our self perception for a few months now and all of my research -- academic, emotional and artistic -- has felt inadequate without writing about my lived experiences. These self portraits accompany a piece of writing on my website about growth, shared suffering and identity in running. It's challenged me in the best ways.

"I used to feel that behind each of these race times I hadn’t yet achieved, sat a heightened version of myself. A woman who was stronger, better liked, easier to respect and more impressive. Without ever consciously making this decision, it was established in my brain that my loved ones’ care for me was dependent on me bridging the void between these numbers. If I could just fit myself into this race time, straining and squeezing, maybe I wouldn’t feel so guilty for taking up space. I’d make myself mean something. I’d be a part of that category of women who had also achieved that time status and therefore equate my worth with theirs, which had to be more than my own." -- an excerpt

Major shoutout to all of the friends and family who have helped me to both edit this piece and live the experiences I've written about. This wouldn't be possible without you!!

Thanks a million @scaddotedu !!!!

I couldn't be more thankful and in awe that six of my photos were chosen to be displayed on the biggest public stage at SCAD on SCAD Atlanta's 1600 Peachtree St. building in Atlanta. To have this dream come true during my surprise senior year feels insane.

This series of six photos from last spring wouldn't have been possible without the incredible creative team of designers, models and assistant that helped with the production of these photos! The collaboration is everything to me. The support and encouragement of my family, friends, professors and inspiring peers has pushed me and challenged me to get to this point, so thank you.

My photos will be on display for the month of February from 8am-noon and 8pm-midnight every day. It was the coolest thing in the world to see them in person!! Also check the digital artist catalog! This will never get old... feeling #proud. 🤍🐝🤸🏼‍♀️

@maddyws.art performance art piece in Forsyth Park [May 2026]

Over the past year I've had the honor of watching and documenting my dear friend Maddy's process throughout her Fibers MFA work. In May, she took to our beloved Forsyth to ask strangers to wrap her body in a variety of materials. You should totally go read her eloquent posts about the experience from her perspective.

My original purpose was simply documentation, but over the course of a few hours, I got to watch dozens of strangers figure out how to interact with a figure they were unfamiliar with. Everyone from little kids to older adults had to each create a physical relationship with a stranger in such an intimate way. It was beautiful and I was so moved. It inspired me to create more fine art-style compositions, capturing textures and unspoken connections formed through yarn and fabric.

Documenting my favorite artists, who are also my friends, is kinda the coolest. More soon!!! by @edithnobledesign

Track Numerology Study [graphic series]

Stumptown Twilight... but only looking at typographic elements. Our sport is so much about numbers, and sometimes this is how it feels -- a race seed, time result, ranking. Numbers on our bodies.

The intentionality of details -- the Georgian Bay, Ontario, Canada

I fell in love with the textures of this beautiful island on Lake Huron and had to capture them and recreate them in my sketchbook. Thankful to have been able to explore new places by visiting friends this summer. Inspiration from everywhere !!!! taken in Georgian Bay, Ontario by @edithnobledesign

Twice this season, @houseoftrack.hot had the opportunity to provide on-site photography coverage for meets hosted by @pdxtrack, first at Portland Track Festival and again at Stumptown Twilight.

Same venue but two completely different perspectives of capturing the sport through the lens of HOT.

What makes these weekends especially meaningful is that they marked the first official pilot of what we’re trying to build with House of Track: bringing athletes, creatives, and the community of our sport closer together through storytelling.

A huge thank you to our first two trusted creatives, @edithnobledesign and @m.guelzacarias, for believing in the vision and helping pave the way for what’s possible. 🪶

Here is their combined work and its strongly recommended you drop them a follow: @edithnobledesign @m.guelzacarias taken in Portland, Oregon by @edithnobledesign
