Dia 5 - Ritmo y Raíces 🇵🇷🪘🌿
Roots of Solidarity: The Art & Alchemy of Solidarity

Finding time to feel and release what is not ours. ✌🏽🫶🏽💪🏽🙏🏽 ☀️🌊🌅 #divinelove by @edna1of1

As part of the Roots of Solidarity cultural residency in Puerto Rico, young people explored the connections between history, identity, healing, and civic belonging through storytelling. Community members in Añasco and Luquillo were invited to share their answer to one question: What is your wish for America’s future?

Together, these wishes remind us that imagining America’s future means listening to the people shaping it, honoring the many histories that define it, and making space for every community’s vision of what comes next. by @edna1of1

My niece showed OUT today! 🏐🔥🇵🇷 So blessed to have been able to watch her play volleyball! Strong, smart, and quick on her feet! Love seeing her confidence, determination, and talent shine on the court. So proud of you, baby girl! Keep shining! ❤️👏🏽

❤️👏🏽 by @edna1of1

Where the music fills the air, the hips don’t lie, and the rhythm feeds the soul. ¡Así se vive en Puerto Rico! 🇵🇷✨

PEACE ✌🏽 LOVE 🫶🏽

Both with me and within me. 🌊☀️🇵🇷

Every time I return to the beach where I was raised, it reminds me of everything I need to know.

Who I am. Where I come from. What truly matters.

Some places don’t need words. They simply remind you to listen, trust, and return to yourself.

The ocean always knows how to bring me back to ME.🫶🏽🌊🇵🇷 by @edna1of1

Yesterday in Loíza, the 6to Encuentro de Cantaoras de Bomba de Puerto Rico was a powerful reminder that our culture is alive, growing, and being carried forward by the next generation. 🇵🇷🪘

And what a way to open the celebration — 10-year-old Anaís Isadora stepping forward with such a strong, beautiful voice and singing “No Me Llore.” To witness a young girl stand in the tradition of our cantaoras with that much confidence, presence, and connection to Bomba was something special.

Anaís is part of Junte Loiceño and represents a new generation continuing the legacy of Bomba and Plena. Yesterday’s gathering brought together generations of women and girls whose voices, rhythms, and stories continue preserving our Puerto Rican heritage.

Cultural preservation is so beautiful 🫶🏽 our elders teaching, our communities holding space, and our children carrying it forward.

Que viva la Bomba.
Que vivan nuestras cantaoras.
🇵🇷❤️🪘
