In 1 day…I will be an alumnus of the prestigious North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. The school that I have called home for over 4 years of my life. Artist Spotlight: Evan Seltzer 🎷 🎼

Meet Evan Seltzer, a talented saxophonist and recent graduate of North Carolina A&T State University. Originally from Jacksonville, Florida, Evan has been playing saxophone for nine years and has spent the last five years honing his craft in jazz.
Throughout his musical journey, Evan has performed in marching band, symphonic band, and the North Carolina A&T University Jazz Ensemble. His experience has led him to share the stage with renowned musicians such as Kirk Whalum and John Lumpkin, and he has also performed at the prestigious Max Roach Festival in Elizabeth City.

As Evan begins his professional career with the USDA in North Carolina, he continues to pursue his passion for music by performing throughout the region. Available for weddings, private parties, corporate events, festivals, and other special occasions, Evan brings his own professional sound equipment and offers a versatile repertoire spanning jazz, R&B, old-school classics, and more—all at an affordable price.

When people think of tunes that are in the time signature of 5/4, “Take 5” is the jazz tune that typically comes to mind. This was a special request from one of the hosts of the event I was hired to play at recently. I played this tune back in 2019 for them and ever since they have been obsessed with Brubeck’s music. I love putting people on to what real jazz is 🙂‍↕️.
