Get Off The X is a 4-week, 16-session strength and conditioning program built with one objective: drive progress through efficient, purposeful training. Each session is capped at 30 minutes—structured to the minute—making it ideal for the busy athlete who needs precision, not guesswork.

The program emphasizes fundamental movement patterns and strategically micro-doses training stress to deliver high-quality work without unnecessary fatigue. Every session is repeatable, time-efficient, and designed to build strength, durability, and work capacity while accounting for real-world demands and unpredictable schedules.

Psychological Operations (PSYOP) are military operations designed to influence the behavior, perceptions, and decision-making of selected audiences in support of U.S. objectives.

Within the Army, PSYOP is a Special Operations capability. PSYOP Soldiers analyze audiences, develop communication strategies, and deliver information designed to influence behavior at the tactical, operational, and strategic levels.

Their missions can support objectives such as influencing adversary decision-making, encouraging surrender, reducing resistance, and shaping the operational environment.

PSYOP demonstrates that military operations are not solely about physical force. Understanding people, information, culture, and behavior can directly affect how a conflict develops.

Persuade. Change. Influence.

I’ve posted about warm-ups in the past, including examples dynamic warm-ups and weight-room preparation. If you’re looking for a more structured approach, check out some of our previous posts.

Today, let’s talk about making your warm-up fun, useful, and worth your time.

A warm-up gives you an opportunity to raise core temperature, prepare tissue and movement patterns, and expose yourself to qualities that may get overlooked in your training.

Here are some simple ways to help bring your warm up to life!

1. Use Non-Traditional Movements — There are plenty of exercises, machines, and pieces of equipment that look interesting but may not deserve a place in your training. The warm-up is a great place to experiment with them. Use the low-risk environment to learn new movements without taking away from the primary objective.

2. Train Power — Power / rate of force development are important qualities for tactical athletes, but they can easily get overlooked when training becomes dominated by strength / endurance work. Jumps, hops, skips, and medicine ball throws are simple ways to expose yourself to RFD —and they can also help “potentiate” you for your primary movements. Power is also a quality that tends to decline with age, making regular exposure important for long-term performance.

3. Practice Something New — Have a movement you’ve wanted to try? Put it in the warm-up. Low-intensity sets are an opportunity to develop new skills, explore different patterns, and expand your training without turning your main workout into an experiment.

4. Steal Some Cardio — If your warm-up consists of simple, low-risk movements, use the time productively. Easy aerobic work on a bike, rower, or other modality can help raise body temperature and accumulate additional low-intensity conditioning without requiring another training session.

5. Move In Different Planes — Tactical athletes live in the sagittal plane. The warm-up provides an easy opportunity to incorporate multi-planar movements through shuffles, carries, skips, crawls, rotations, and other simple variations.

The Cerberus is a simple, effective 4-week strength program built around three lifting sessions per week — just like the name implies. It is designed for individuals who want measurable strength gains without living in the gym.

Each session follows a total body approach, built around foundational compound movements that train multiple patterns in every workout.

Alongside the main lifts, each day includes daily GPP work to raise capacity in targeted and isolated muscle groups. This supplemental work is designed to improve local muscular endurance, reinforce weak points, and build resilience in specific areas without overloading the system (plus get some mean pumps).

The primary focus remains progressively overloading on compound movements, ensuring consistent strength development while maintaining recovery and training quality across the week.

This is training that respects your time while still driving performance forward. Simple. Efficient. Effective.

Civil Affairs Soldiers operate at the intersection of military operations and the civilian environment. Their job is not simply to interact with local populations, but to understand how civilian leaders, institutions, infrastructure, culture, and populations affect military operations and how military operations affect them.

Army Civil Affairs forces work with civilian authorities, host-nation governments, indigenous populations, interagency partners, and other organizations to support military objectives and improve stability. Their capabilities can include civil reconnaissance, civil engagement, liaison, humanitarian assistance, and helping commanders understand the civil component of an operational environment. The Army’s Civil Affairs community supports both conventional and special operations forces.

Regional knowledge, language, cultural awareness, communication, relationship building, and the ability to operate alongside military and civilian organizations are central to the mission.

Civil Affairs demonstrates an important reality of modern military operations: military power extends beyond the battlefield. Understanding the people, institutions, and environment surrounding an operation can directly influence how effectively a force accomplishes its mission.

Plyometrics are often overlooked in training, but they are an important tool for developing the ability to produce and absorb force quickly.

A plyometric movement uses a rapid eccentric action followed by a ballistic concentric action taking advantage of the stretch-shortening cycle. The ability to transition quickly between eccentric, isometric, and concentric muscle actions is what makes plyometrics valuable for qualities like acceleration, jumping, landing, and change of direction.

Not every jump is a plyometric. A loaded jump or a slower countermovement jump can be useful for developing total power, and has its place in training, but traditional plyometrics rely on rapid, reflexive ground contacts and a quick transition between loading and propulsion.

Like any other training method, plyometrics should be progressed. A novice athlete, or someone who has not been exposed to high-impact training recently does not need to start with complex or unilateral plyometrics. Progress from bilateral to unilateral, simple to complex, and extensive to intensive movements as the athlete develops the capacity to tolerate and produce force.

Plyometrics can be incorporated in several ways. They can be paired with primary strength movements as contrast training, used early in a session when the athlete is warm and fresh, or incorporated into dynamic warm-ups before conditioning. Lower-intensity plyometrics can prepare an athlete for higher-output work, while more intensive variations can become a primary training stimulus.

Plyometrics are a skill. Build the capacity, progress the exposure, and train them with intent.

The Warrior Training Plan is a 4-week, 6-day-per-week program designed to build strength, endurance, and work capacity.

Every session begins with preparation based on the day’s focus (run, ruck, or lift), and each week integrates 4 total-body strength sessions focused on developing strength and power across all major movement patterns.

A cardio conversion chart is incorporated, allowing athletes to swap implements based on what is available, ensuring the intent of the session stays consistent regardless of environment or equipment.

Throughout the week, metabolic conditioning and interval training are strategically sprinkled in, building the ability to handle higher intensity efforts while maintaining training quality across sessions.

Conditioning is built into the system through Zone 2 work performed at the end of the week, alternating between running and rucking to develop aerobic capacity and improve engine efficiency.

This is an athlete-centered program built to bridge the gap between where you are and where you need to be to step into. The plan foreshadows the Everyday Operator Training Series, where training becomes more integrated and demand-specific.

Train with intent. Recover with purpose. Build like a Warrior.
