We’re turning TWO, and there’s so much to smile about! ❤️🏓

I wish we could bottle the happiness that filled SMASH during our anniversary celebration. Seeing everyone come together, enjoy the courts and celebrate with us was the best gift I could have asked for.

These highlights capture a few moments, but my favourite part was simply having you there. The conversations, the laughter, the familiar faces and the new introductions made it a day I’ll always treasure.

And to everyone who sent a thoughtful message or anniversary wish, you made the occasion even sweeter. I’ve felt so much kindness, and I’m truly grateful.

To our members and guests, thank you for bringing your energy, enthusiasm and love of the game through our doors. To our wonderful team, thank you for putting so much care into making everyone feel welcome. There is so much of YOU in everything we’re celebrating.

I’m heading into year three with a full heart and plenty of excitement. We have more memories to make, and I’m so happy we get to make them together! 🙌

With love and gratitude,

Two years of SMASH. ❤️🏓

What began as a vision has grown into something far more meaningful than a place to play pickleball—it has become a community.

Yesterday’s celebration was absolutely amazing. The energy throughout SMASH was incredible, and the outpouring of heartfelt emails, texts and DMs has been overwhelming in the most meaningful way. I’m deeply grateful to everyone who celebrated with us, reached out and took the time to share such kind words. Your support means more to me than I can express.

To every member, guest and person who has walked through our doors: thank you for choosing SMASH, trusting us and supporting us throughout this journey. Every game played, laugh shared and friendship formed has helped make SMASH what it is today.

To our incredible staff: thank you for the care, commitment and hard work you bring every day. You are at the heart of the experience we’ve created together.

I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve built and excited for everything still to come. Here’s to two unforgettable years—and many more ahead!

With heartfelt appreciation,
Ed Sater

CNPL Season 4 Champs 🏆

Big changes this year. After being part of the Montreal Lions since my first season in the league, I never imagined I’d be lifting this trophy with another team. This year brought a new chapter with the London Smash and my third title in three seasons played; also happy to reach 100 career wins! Grateful for the memories in Montreal and proud to bring this title home with my new team 💥

Thank you Ed for bringing me onto the London Smash and for being an awesome GM and owner. Proud to share this championship with my teammates. 🏆

To my mama, thank you for always showing up and supporting me ❤️ Getting to raise the trophy for a third consecutive year with you by my side makes it even more special.

Thank you to all my sponsors for your continued support and for helping me do what I love. 🙏🏽

I’m extremely proud of this one, but mostly just really grateful! 🖤

Grateful I got to be part of this team and surrounded by such amazing people and players. I learned from them all season.

I enjoyed every moment, learned from every experience, and I’m leaving this season a better player and person because of this team.

One of my personal goals has always been to help empower women in sport and help create more opportunities for women to compete, grow and be recognized. So I also can’t finish this season without talking about the women.

At the awards ceremony, none of the overall league awards went to a woman. And that honestly didn’t sit right with me.

Especially when I think about @aibika_pb and @annesoph.pb

They went 25–3 together this season with a +153 point differential. If we’re talking stats, consistency, impact and being valuable to your team, I don’t know how you can look past what these two did.

I watched them show up ALL season, give 100% every single time and work their asses off for this team. They were fucking incredible.

And then at the finals, I watched four women play, @jadabui , @mklokotzky.pb , Aibika and Anso, absolutely INSANE pickleball.

It just made me realize again how often women in sports still have to fight to be recognized. We see it with awards. We see it with prize money. We see tournaments in Canada and Quebec still paying women less based on registration numbers because fewer women registered.

How are we supposed to grow the women’s game if we keep treating it like it’s worth less?

I don’t want to take anything away from anyone who won an award. I just think we need to talk about it.

Because there were some incredible women in the CNPL this year and they deserve to be seen.

All of us improved. All of us showed up. All of us brought value.

#pickleball #womensupportingwomen #womeninsports

J’ai profité de chaque moment, appris de chaque expérience et je termine cette saison taken in Waterloo, Ontario by @edsater

To the team, I want to say this…

Thank you.

Thank you for believing in each other. Thank you for trusting me and trusting the process, even when it wasn’t easy.

This season asked a lot from every one of you.

There were difficult decisions. Players were asked to take on roles they weren’t used to, roles they may not have wanted, and roles that weren’t easy to accept.

There were lineup changes, sacrifices and moments when individual wants had to take a back seat to what was best for the team.

And that is what makes this championship mean so much.

Because somewhere along the way, everyone understood something bigger:

This was never about one person.

It wasn’t about who played the most, who received the recognition, who had the biggest role, or whose name was being talked about.

It was about LONDON SMASH.

It was about the person beside you, and understanding that sometimes being part of something special means sacrificing a little of yourself for something greater.

And you did that.

You accepted difficult roles. You supported each other. You stayed ready. You stayed together.

There were moments of frustration. Decisions were questioned. Some of you had to dig deep and accept something that wasn’t easy.

But when it mattered most, nobody made it about themselves.

You made it about the team.

That is what I will remember forever.

Not just the trophy. Not just the wins.

I will remember how this group came together when it would have been so easy to pull apart.

Every person on this roster mattered. Each of you owns a piece of this championship.

I hope you know how proud I am.

I love this team more than you know, and I will never forget what we accomplished together.

One day the lineups will change. The roster will change. We may never all wear the same jersey together again.

But nobody can ever take this away from us.

In 2026, when everything was on the line, this group chose each other.

We fought for each other.
We sacrificed for each other.
We believed in each other.

And we became champions together.

We came to Waterloo with one goal.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

THIS TEAM. ❤️🏆

What made this championship so special wasn’t simply that LONDON SMASH won.

It was HOW this team won.

This season asked a lot from this group.

There were difficult decisions. Really difficult decisions.

Players were asked to take on roles they weren’t used to. Roles they may not have wanted. Roles that weren’t always easy to accept.

There were lineup changes, sacrifices, uncomfortable conversations and moments when individual wants had to take a back seat to what was best for the team.

And somewhere along the way, this group understood something bigger:

This was never about one person.

It wasn’t about who played the most, who received the recognition, who had the biggest role or whose name was being talked about.

It was about LONDON SMASH.

It was about the person standing beside them.

It was about understanding that sometimes being part of something special means sacrificing a little of yourself for something greater.

And this team did that.

They accepted difficult roles. They supported each other. They stayed ready. Most importantly, they stayed together.

There were moments of frustration. Decisions were questioned. There were times when players had to dig deep and accept something that wasn’t easy.

But when it mattered most, nobody made it about themselves.

They made it about the TEAM.

That is what I will remember most.

Not just the trophy. Not just the wins.

I’ll remember how this group came together when it would have been so easy to pull apart.

Every person on this roster mattered. Every person owns a piece of this championship.

I couldn’t be prouder of this group or more grateful for what we accomplished together.

One day the lineups will change. The roster will change. We may never have this exact group wearing the same jersey together again.

But nobody can ever take this away from us.

In 2026, when everything was on the line, THIS TEAM chose each other.

They fought for each other.
They sacrificed for each other.
They believed in each other.

And together, they became CHAMPIONS.

We came to Waterloo with one goal.

MISSION ACCOMPLISHED.

I haven’t taken much time to reflect on the last couple of years.

When you’re living in constant stress and chaos, it’s easy to lose perspective. You start looking at setbacks and decisions in isolation. You question your judgment, your abilities and eventually even your self-worth.

Sometimes you give too much of yourself to people and carry far more than you should. When that energy isn’t reciprocated, you start wondering whether you were the problem.

You can become so consumed by difficult moments that you lose sight of who you are. The people closest to you remind you that you’re capable, kind, generous and resilient — but sometimes you’re still looking for validation from the places that made you question yourself.

Every once in a while, life gives you a reminder. Last night was one of those moments.

At the CNPL Awards Ceremony in Waterloo, I was incredibly honoured to be named CNPL Owner/Manager of the Year. 🏆

This means more to me than I can explain — because of what it took to get here.

This has been one of the most stressful and chaotic periods of my life. I’ve faced challenges with my family, my health, my businesses and things behind the scenes.

There have been days I’ve been exhausted and overwhelmed, wondering how I’d keep everything moving.

But I kept going.

I kept showing up. I kept leading. I kept making decisions. I kept fighting through the difficult days. And somehow, amongst all that chaos, I was still able to build and lead the number-one team throughout the CNPL season and be recognized by my peers as Owner/Manager of the Year.

That’s what I’m most proud of.

Sometimes resilience isn’t loud. Sometimes it’s showing up when nobody really knows what you’re carrying. It’s performing when you’re exhausted. Leading when you’re struggling. Believing when circumstances give you every reason to doubt.

Through the stress. The pressure. The setbacks. The chaos.

I STILL FOUND A WAY.

Maybe I needed that reminder.

I’m proud of this one. ❤️🏆

But we’re not finished. We didn’t come to Waterloo for individual awards. We came here to win a CNPL Championship. 🏆
One more job to do.
Let’s finish what we started. 💥 by @edsater

Last night, the CNPL officially kicked off Championship Weekend with its annual Awards Ceremony — a night dedicated to celebrating the incredible players, owners, GMs, and contributors who continue to elevate the Canadian National Pickleball League.

For LONDON SMASH, it was a night we will never forget.

We were incredibly proud and honoured to receive two of the league’s most coveted awards:

🏆 ED SATER — MANAGER OF THE YEAR
Our proud Owner & GM, recognized for his leadership, commitment, and contribution to London SMASH and the CNPL.

🏆 RYAN TORRESIN — PLAYERS’ CHOICE AWARD
Our captain and 2025 CNPL League MVP, now recognized by his fellow players with one of the most meaningful honours in the league.

Ryan’s Players’ Choice Award carries special significance because it is voted on by the players themselves — recognition from his peers for the respect he has earned, the impact he has made, and the incredible level of play he continues to bring to the CNPL.

To receive these two honours on the eve of the CNPL Championship is an incredibly proud moment for our entire organization.

But these awards are bigger than two individuals.

They represent the commitment of our entire team. The sacrifices. The countless hours. The belief in one another. The culture we have built. And every person who has supported London SMASH throughout this journey.

We are proud.

We are grateful.

We are honoured.

But we are NOT FINISHED.

There is still one trophy left. 🏆

The one we have worked toward all season.

The one we came to Waterloo to bring home.

The one that means more than all the others.

Now it’s time to finish what we started.

ONE TEAM. ONE GOAL. ONE MORE TROPHY.

LONDON SMASH. LET’S GO WIN A CHAMPIONSHIP. 💥🏆

Happy 5 months to the two tiny humans who have completely taken over our hearts, our home, our bed, our camera roll, our sleep schedule… and basically our entire lives. 😂❤️

Frankie & Zayn, how has it already been FIVE MONTHS?! 🥹

Five months ago, you two came into this world and instantly made your dad and me realize two things:

We had absolutely NO IDEA how much we were capable of loving someone. ❤️
Sleep was apparently something we did in our previous life. 😂

You have turned our world completely upside down in the most exhausting, chaotic, hilarious and unbelievably beautiful way possible.

Frankie, our beautiful little princess with enough personality to run the entire household, and trust me, she already knows it. 👑😂

And Zayn, our sweet, adventurous, handsome little man who can melt our hearts with one look and has already figured out that being ridiculously cute will get him out of just about anything. ❤️

Watching the two of you together is something I will never be able to put into words. The little looks, the smiles, the way you reach for each other, and even the moments when one of you is screaming while the other looks over like, “Seriously? Again?” 😂

Your dad and I are tired. Like… REALLY tired. 😂 We sometimes don’t know what day it is, we celebrate getting four consecutive hours of sleep like we won the lottery, and leaving the house now requires the logistical planning of a small military operation.

But we would do every single sleepless night, every bottle, every diaper, every cry and every crazy moment a million times over just to be your Mommy and Daddy.

You are our greatest adventure, our biggest blessing, our answered prayers and without question the two greatest loves of our lives.

Happy 5 months, our beautiful babies. ❤️

Mommy and Daddy love you more than you will ever understand.

Now please… for your 5 month gift to us…

SLEEP THROUGH THE NIGHT. 😂🙏❤️

Love you forever and ever,

Mami & Daddy ❤️ by @edsater
