it's never a bad time to re-introduce yourself, so in case you don't know me.. this is what I do! I'm a composer and musician, and here's a selection of my favourite screen work over the last few years – I've revamped my website edseed.co.uk, and if you're looking for music for your project then shoot me a message here or there xx by @edseeed
With @jessieware on @jools.holland.official performing ‘No Consequences’ and ‘Superbloom’ - full versions on IPlayer and YouTube. This was so fun!! I was nervous because it was the first time I’ve ever played bass on telly, and these songs have such a beautiful smooth groove on record - but in the end it was such an easy joy playing with this huge incredible band, and now I can’t wait for the Superbloom tour this autumn xx (also thanks to @michfire and all of you on here who persuaded me to buy that Musicmaster, you were pushing at an open door tbh but I believe in the voice of the people ✊) Musical Direction @wfblive @charles_i_monneraud @williambowerman Drums @samsonjatto Percussion @barneylister Bass @edseeed Keys @politemike Flute @gareth_lockrane Strings @boltstringsmusic Violin 1 @ciara_ii Violin 2 @rosiejudge Viola nhicksviola Cello @midorijager BVs @nilejustnile @shanicesteele @fridatouray @nataliewilliamsmusic by @edseeed

@dagnymusic headlining @oyafestivalen !! Dagny is a true artist, and it’s been a delight bringing the songs from her fantastic new album Dancefloor Erotica to the stage, and uniting them with so many glorious older songs. Dagny’s band are among the very best musicians I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with - I’m in awe of their talent, their generosity and their total mutual understanding. NEW WORK: ‘Bondi Spirit’, Compass, ABC This show wasn’t a normal composing job, it was an intensely personal project, honouring some people who are very dear to me, so please allow the long explanation. On December 14th, my mother-in-law Agi was caught in the Bondi terror attack, and her best friend Marika was killed as they sheltered side-by-side under plastic chairs. Agi and Marika were always side-by-side, with their extraordinarily deep connection – they shared holidays, clothes and even the same birthday. That was how Marika became such a big part of mine and @michfire ‘s life, not only in Sydney, but when she’d visit us in the UK, showering us and our children with generous gifts, treating us as her own family, bossing us about. She was the guest of honour at our wedding, watching the speeches from the top table with tears in her loving, all-seeing eyes. Agi and Marika are part of a large and devoted friendship group of Bondi ladies, all of whom came to Australia in the decades after World War II to escape persecution in Europe and to build a new life. They came from Hungary, Czechoslovakia, Poland, Romania, Austria and Russia, and though they are mostly not religious, they brought their Jewish culture to the unfancied working-class immigrant suburb of Bondi. They brought cakes and coffee to the Gelato Bar on Campbell Parade, music to the Hakoah Club on Hall Street, and they made Bondi what it is today. There could be no better symbol of Bondi’s thriving than Marika, who arrived as a single parent and worked ceaselessly for her son Roman, building up to opening and running her own Hungarian-style restaurant. After the attack, amid the blaring rolling-news and hot takes, Michelle said how sad it was no one was hearing about the Bondi she knew, and who Marika really was beyond a victim’s name. Michelle shared this sadness with Tracey Spring, one of her oldest friends, who makes documentaries for the ABC’s ‘Compass’ strand. Michelle wanted this story told, and said Tracey was the only person who would do it right, with the care and sensitivity she has for everyone she films. ⬇️ cont in comments ⬇️ by @edseeed
Say You Love Me with @jessieware at @royalalberthall to celebrate ten years of @chooselove xxx thank you @x6joch for the video by @edseeed
Five years ago today Stats released our second album ‘Powys 1999’, and I still love it so much. The other day someone asked what single piece of work I’m most proud of, and even with all the amazing experiences I’ve been lucky enough to have all over the world with incredible artists, it’s still this album, because it’s so personal to me. I wouldn’t change a single note 😊 It’s a love letter to Mid Wales, where I grew up on the side of a mountain, feeling unnatural in an apparently natural place. When I was 17 I wanted to make country music, not twangy fake-American copying but music that sounded like the strange/beautiful/quiet/damp/ravey/cultish/loving/paranoid/nurturing/alienating country I actually came from. It took such a long time I abandoned the idea, but weirdly we kind of achieved it here. ‘Powys 1999’ is my country music. Producer/mixer @tommandrewss and I took the band to a studio in the area so everyone would soak up the feel of the place, and they really did. Stats were an amazing band, capable of anything, and I’m so proud of what we did. Love you all @johnrbarrett @duncanjbrown @leftwithstu @nicolerobson @antwhiting @isobelwb Thanks too to everyone who made it happen and supported us then and now, including but very much not limited to @memphis_industries @bobfoster_ @tttremaine @leigh_firebelly @matthewkeithhutt @a.gentpublicity @progressiveartists by @edseeed
